Texas Monthly (I think) had a good story about the Von Erich’s about ten years back. In the mid 70s they were our heros after the evening news, when mom would let us stay up late.

I think it was Kerry, David, and Mike that used to do the Pizza Hut commercials. Seen all the V.E.'s and the Blackjacks and Gino Hernandez, and the World Class Wrestling crowd at the Sportatorium. Saw Willie and Delbert Mcclinton there years ago. I used to have an autographed bottle of Jack Daniel's black label from Terry Gordy. Big ol scary dude BIL used to wrassle in the 80's, but not a headliner. Can't remember the term for the little known good guy that gets beat up to make the A man look good. I think he was with the National Wrestling Alliance in those days. He wrestled Sting and Lex Luger and Rick Steiner and the Road Warriors with another guy. Those are who I can think of. Mother and father buried a few yards from all the Von Erichs. There's always some fans there when I go

I grew up around lots of girls and later women who dated or had friends that dated the Von Erich boys. All of the boys had the same story, they were messed up because they were sexually abused when they were young so before you look at big Fritz with admiration just keep in mind that he was the most likely person to have been the abuser. Not saying that he was but if I had to guess I would say that he was the one. That would explain the dug use and suicides. So, is that why he posted that little rumor? Ive been wondering why??? The boys all spilled their guts to their girlfriends about the abuse that they had suffered and in my early teens while fishing at the lake at night I personally observed one of the Von Erich boys getting pleasured by a couple of other guys. I was too young to really understand what was going on with them but in hindsight with an adult's knowledge it's pretty clear what was going on in their lives and why they turned out the way they did. I don't know if their dad did anything to them but I do know that someone did. Considering how they're all dead now I guess it doesn't really matter anymore. My first hand observation of them was quite limited and they were considered superheroes in Denton County where I was living at the time but the train wreck that their lives were taught me to always pull back the curtain to look and never assume that what you're seeing out of people in public isn't just a facade.

People are generally a bunch of screw ups. Glad I've never had hero worship, in spite of meeting quite a few very famous ballplayers. No thanks.

Oh boy here we go again....... Have you ever heard the saying about it being bad meeting your heroes? I guess that sometimes it's best not to look behind the curtain. I don't really know what happened but I've always had my suspicions.
