I got rashy looking spots on my forehead opening dove weekend. One did not heal. Went to the derm last Tue and she was 99% sure it was basal. The lab results came back Wed mid day as squamous. Friday rolls around and the dermatologist still hadn't called me about the results. Of course their office was closed when I called. I gave them till lunch yesterday and called them again. The nurse finally called me back a couple hours later. She told me that they got the results back and I said yeah I know, they were done last Wed. Now I have to be referred to a specialists for Mohs. Who knows how long that'll take, but I'm not giving them long.

Now, I understand there are bigger fish to fry. This isn't the most serious form and it spreads slow, but as a patient I want this chit off me ASAP. Waiting 5 days after the lab results were done (and prolly only calling cuz I did) rubs me wrong and has me looking for another dermatologist. Anybody have a recommendation north of Dallas to McKinney?

Hotness level is irrelevant grin

I understand your frustration, especially with Dr' office staff. It's only getting worse. No recommendation to offer, just wishing you the best.

Mine is spectacular, She is Vietnamese and since she is so beautiful she must have French Blood in here. I hear the hottest chicks in Vietnam are mixed with conquering country of France.

I will try to take pics this week.

Thank you, I'm sure it'll be fine.

The surgeon's office called to setup an initial visit yesterday. That appt isn't until Oct 11. I said so I guess yall aren't in a big hurry. They replied that they like to get it out at least a month after the biopsy. I'm hoping that means it isn't a big deal, not that they're too busy or incompetent LOL.

I've had 3 abnormal ekg's in the last year so my primary dr made a referral to a cardiologist. Next appt is Dec 11. Guess I'll just hope that it isn't a big deal also! Had hand surgery yesterday morning and was sent a script for pain pills to Walgreens. Prescription was filled at noon today after I called. Luckily, I didn't need them!

When they diagnosed my Melanoma back in 2011, It was Christmas time. It took forever to get into the plastic surgeon to get him to cut a chunk off my arm. Then it took forever to get the results back from the plastic surgeon. I was going freeking nuts all through the holidays not knowing how bad it was (what stage).
This was pre Mohs surgery.

My Derm gets me in same day if I ever had anything I need looked at. He knows how this skin stuff scares the peee out of me. He's in Frisco if it would work for you.

Hé's a hard conservative too

Larry, squamous isn't a big deal. Slow growing usually. After the biopsy they want the area healed completely before they go back and do more damage. They can visually see the cancer cells. Inflammation may make it hard to see. Then another lab check to make sure the margins are free of the cancer cells. And yes, medical personnel have gotten worse since that 0bama bill.

I’m going on October nineteenth for my first MOHS procedure. It’s on my right temple area. It started out like a little pimple but it was hard, and it wouldn’t heal. The biopsy showed that it is basal cell.

My first one was on my right temple. I worried that they’d make my face a little crooked when cutting a chunk out of that side. The doc said I’d never even have a scar. I didn’t believe him, but he was right. I’m not any better looking, but not any worse either. No scar. Face not crooked either.

On my right arm however, I have a great looking dueling scar from a Moh’s. Well, I say it’s from a knife fight. Not that big a lie, since a knife was involved.

it is not a big deal if caught early, It can spread to the Lymph Nodes and other organs if not treated.

My Dr. is very good, referred to me by another THFer who is a pretty darn sharp. His name is Dr. Howard Rubin 214-919-3150, office in N Dallas at Northhaven Rd. at the Dallas N Tollway,

If you read my original post, I switched from another Dermatologist group of good looking mid aged women because I did not feel comfortable about what I perceived as them not knowing what they were doing.

Simple Basal Cell Carcinoma that was about the size of a dime on the surface, but spread under the skin.

I started getting my face whittled by the dermatologist when I was like 34 years old. I wear a cowboy hat everywhere I go now. Agreed, let others learn from my mistakes. Hope no one else gets it.

Got cut on three weeks ago and ended up with a two inch long chunk of meat gone behind my ear. They also froze some spots on my ears and face so I was a walking example of what the sun can do if not protected.

I’ve had a bunch of them but always got to them in time. Now, I go to the skin Doc every 6 months. But, at 80 yoa, seems like I know every Doc in town.

I got a quarter to half dollar sized chunk taken out of my forehead this morning. I tell ya, I know 53 yo isn't necessarily young, but I sure felt like it sitting in the waiting room. Has me a bit concerned about this becoming an ongoing battle.

Hopefully the pathology report will come back clean. I think I was about 55 when I had my Melanoma. The stuff has no age limit. The good part is you were smart enough to go to a doctor. Prayers for ya!

Dang Stub, just reading this for the first time, glad to know Dr Rubin worked out. He cut one off my chest, it turned out to not be cancer, but he did not take a chance. I see him annually now. Best of luck with it.

I went to my Derma last week she rubbed some stuff on my face and let it sit for like 30 minutes and then did a high intense bright light on my face for 10 minutes, it's suppose to get rid of per cancerous cells.

Next treatment we do the arms, and then legs and then torso.
