The Brit girls that had such fun shooting a while back wanted a stool like I make for friends and family (and special requests from short cute girls). They saw the one in my shop. No problem, though it took me a while to make them, and another coat of paint is planned. The SIL will ship them for me. I wish I had some idea of how many I have made since about 1980. I can’t even guess… And I want to mention that paint between the stools. It’s Behr Dynasty and it’s the best covering paint I’ve had in years. Amazing paint. One coat will do it, but I’ll give it two. The darker blue will take 3 coats, and I have a red that takes at least 3 coats. Since we’ve gone away from oil based, it’s hard to find real good paint.

Those look good and always come in handy. Might be pricey shipping to England.

Angus, that’s why I asked the SIL if he’d ship them. They’re his relatives, and I knew he would. I might be a bit old, but devious I am.

Have you tried Sherwin Williams SuperPaint? I ask not to say it's better because I've not used the Dynasty and wondered the comparison...SuperPaint is by far the best paint I've tried. You need to put a small oblong hole in the top to make it easy to carry around. Looks like a very handy little stool for those vertically challenged I'm certain they will be excited to get them.

It's very nice to be able to make something for folks that quite possibly will last generations. I am not that guy. I still have my "tee-tee" stool that some gentleman that was a friend of my parents made for me when I was coming outa diapers. Time will tell if I'll be transitioning back into them down the road.

I have not tried that Sherwin Williams paint. I went to HD or Lowe’s and needed a baby blue paint, and being tired of using mediocre paint, I asked what they had for best coverage. They recommended that Behr paint.
I make some bigger adult-sized stools that have an oblong hole in the top, but those are heavy stools. The ones pictured are relatively light, and little kids can pick them up and move them. Can’t kill the stools without fire or nuclear war, so they should last forever. I still have the one that a buddy’s grandfather made for me in about 1955, and mine are way stronger.
These stools will go to England with small stick-on Texas flags on the underside.

I finally quit using oil based paints. It’s all because of ease in brush cleaning and rapid paint drying with the latex. Nothing shines like a good oil based paint though, so I will still use it occasionally for a special stool for a special person.
The stools shown in the photo got one more coat of paint each. And I got them to the SIL for him to ship them to the girls in England. The girls are in their mid 20’s so maybe they aren’t ‘girls’ any longer.
They really loved banging away with the AR, and I would love to have them back for another visit. The neighbor’s boy, who was 16 when they were here, followed the tall blonde around like a puppy dog. Don’t blame him at all.

The stools made it to England. One of you guys recommended an alternative to UPS, who wanted $700 to ship the 2 stools. The SIL shipped them on that other way for $120 and they have arrived at destination. Thanks much!

Not the postal dis-service. It was a website somebody mentioned to me, and I can’t find the name. The SIL used that approach and took the boxes to the UPS store. Maybe someone will give us that site again.
