You can fail 7 out of 10 times to hit a 95mph fastball and still be a superstar, and make millions, ya know? Unfortunately for me, I failed more than that in pro ball.

One would think someone with Superior Athletics abilities would have a little bit more confidence. Usually the good ones won't tell you how Superior they are........

Where did I say I was superior or had superior athletic ability ? BTW, it's not capitalized either.

No longest drive title here...... it was a 2 person scramble and the wife and I managed -1. The driver was on though, I hit 6 of 7 fairways, almost drove the green twice, and lipped out an eagle chip..... the wife dropped a couple of long putts one being a 30+ footer.

New driver works much better. I changed loft angle and shaft weight in addition to the more modern head. Lunch at DCC in just a few hours then we're off...

Pass the gravy.

Nice, how old was your driver?

I have been only playing since October of 2019. Every club I have replaced with something better has been sold off to recoup cost. I shop for deals so in some cases, I sell and old club for either more than I paid for it or more than paid for what replaced it.

I had a very old and very cheap "driver" given to me. I used it for a month and bought a Callaway Warbird or something cheap used. Then I wanted adaptability so I got a TaylorMade R11s from about 2013. Switched shafts on it a few times and played it a couple years. Then a few months ago I got a 9-degree Ping G-series (no number) from 2016. It came with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke shaft but it was a right handed adapter and the specs weren't suited to my swing with the 70g weight and low spin kick point. I also think either the adapter is rotating on the shaft or the clubface is cracked or something because I haven't hit a good drive in nearly three weeks.

So driving up the fairway on 11 at the muni last Tuesday after work, I ordered this 2021 Callaway Epic MAX 10.5 with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke shaft as well but this shaft, although the same brand, is a different animal all together. It's 50g instead of 70g and mid-spin instead of low spin. I have never liked my lighter shafts but this one is great so far.

MSRP in 2021 was $530 and this club looks so new that I have to ASSume it was a demo used indoors on a simulator only. The OEM Golf Pride grip was replaced with a nice Lamkin. I paid $155 shipped. Hate to admit needing a 10.5 and liking a light shaft and a game improvement style driver head but so what if it works.

Nice, I turned my 10.5 down to 9° I like the trajectory, but it produces a fade, so i lose yardage. I probably need a low kick heavier shaft, or a 9° head with my current shaft. It's a 65 gm mid to high Tensei. I'm gonna buy a Rouge white shaft when we get back. If it doesn't help I'll probably go get fitted for a driver.

Ese, my primary is a TSi3, 8 degree, 75g T1100 Even Flow White, x-flex, backup is Ping G425 LST 9 degree, 70g Rogue, x-flex. Both set on standard loft and lie angle.
Think about playing a little more draw lie bias if you've dialed down the loft. Should take some of the club face openness out of play.

Not my thing Ese, I need to see my shots on the range not a simulator. Need to see real world flight windows, trajectories with spin, apex heights, real life ball velocities with different clubs, divots - straight, left, right, depth, etc...It's old school but what I like...

I need to get the wife some lessons. The pro at the PGA superstore up and quit and she hasn't had any guidance since.

Your like my buddy he's old school... some like the tech some don't. I had a couple of couples over the other day to play Augusta National, and one of the ladies kept hitting her 3 wood right and she couldn't figure out why, it just a couple of swings and she fixed it thanks to the cameras. The tech is just a tool.

The tech is cool and I like Trackman for sure, but for lessons or swing fixes that are not minor, I need some range time for that.

Pings are known to have pretty thin faces, I've cracked 3 of those over the years, about 6 TaylorMades and 3-4 Titlelists ans 2-3 Callaways. You hit range balls and swing 115+, they will crack, some faster than others.

I swung by after work and talked to them. I'm taking it in today...

I dont have that kind of swing speed. I'm more in the 105-108 on average. Every once and a while I'll get one over 110. But I have hit a [censored] ton of balls with it.

Side note, I bought a Rouge white shaft for my driver that is dead now...... so I put my wife's driver head on it and it is way more consistent.
