He sat 3 times and didn't see him. I've made it clear he can come back and hunt whenever, I do not have to be here. I've also made it clear that this is his place too. I have a wee bit of a dilemma if I happen to see him. But, as lazy as I am, it might not be a problem.

I love my boy very, very much. But, surprisingly, I don't feel as bad as I thought I would. (I told him I was shooting him if I saw him and he was cool with it.) Not wide at all, but a very pretty hill country buck. I was just about to head to the house 'cause I'd only seen one, promising for next year 10 point, and one little buck at the feeder this evening. But they both kept looking up and in the brush. The wind was high, swirling all over and FROM MY BACK! But, I had tried pernear's uncle's onion trick when I got in the blind. The 10 point had earlier hauled his butt out of the area. I thought it had finally dawned on him that that was my B.O. in his nostrils. The sun set, the wind died down, and the little buck jerked his head up and this guy came out of the cedars. I got the rifle up and waited for him to clear another cedar. He came out and looked right at me, with the wind blowing from me, directly to him. I pulled the trigger right about the time he was gonna cut in the after-burners I believe. Dang thing got my heart rate up. Thank you pertnear's uncle! His tutelage gave me the time I needed.

I guess that uncommon hunting tactics thread wasn't so bad after all. Who started that one up??

Heck of a nice buck, congrats Another cover scent to consider: Break a branch off of a cedar tree and brush yourself down with it, works like a charm.

Using onion to cover up the smell of scotch - genius! I can’t believe I missed this comment. The euro looks great. It seems that your efforts on that place are paying off a little bit at a time.
