It won’t haul loads like the hd trucks. If you’re using it for normal 1/2 ton Stuff they get great mileage. Everyone I know that has one loves it.

My son has a '21 with about 80K miles. He had one minor problem early on and it was fixed under warranty. He made a number of trips to El Paso and back in '21 and he sometimes got 30 mpg running 75mph. His biggest issue had been finding a dealer had the correct oil and filter for oil changes. He hasn't said anything lately so maybe that is no longer an issue but at one time he was on his third Chevy dealer just trying to find a dealer with the correct oil and filter in stock for his previously scheduled appointment!

Not many issues with them in the field but when they go out of warranty, you'd better hold on for dear life.
Pass the gravy.

Not many issues with them in the field but when they go out of warranty, you'd better hold on for dear life. Why is that? I've got a '22 GMC Sierra Crew 4x4 and love it over the first 22k miles. No problems, runs and drives great, tows my 30ft TT easily, and has averaged 23.4 over it's life. Set the cruise on 70 and 30mpg is rather easy.

I have a a 24 model TrailBoss ordered. Couldnt get the Max Trailering package on the TrailBoss. Hopefully the 10speed trans will do what they say it will do when towing with 3:23 gears.

I'm about 6 weeks into my 23 TrailBoss and will see what the 3.0 does when I haul my Tacoma to Laredo. I went up a little in tire size and still getting about 27 on the highway. So far it's living up to my expectations.

My same situation BOBO. I drive a F350 to pull with so the 3.0 Duramax will mostly just be to do light hauling and travel in. That mileage got my attention.

The first model year was what 2019? Vast majority produced are still under warranty. Look under the hood of any modern vehicle… out of warranty they are all pain in the azz.

The 3.0 is looking pretty good.
I wish Ford would come back out with a 1/2 ton diesel

Or you could just buy a Chevy lol Every GM vehicle I’ve owned I’ve had issues with. Mostly little chincy stuff but still. Not saying my Fords are infallible but it seems GM quality isn’t what Ford is. When it’s time to change trucks I will be giving the AT4 a look with with the 3.0 though. I’m about done driving a 3/4 ton everywhere I actually prefer the way a GM vehicle drives over a Ford, I just don’t believe they are built as tough. I also prefer the GM interior.

been looking a little at the Tahoe with the baby duromax a bit ... what kind of towing capacity do these have? Enough for a lite (6kish) travel trailer?
My wife's Traverse with towing package is rated for 5,000 pounds and does an okay job with our lighter stuff including our boat (5k-ish) but I feel like the old dog and tail situation (tail wagging the dog). She really doesn't want to move up to that big of a vehicle but she might consider if it would work with our TT to have seating for grandkids on camping trips over my truck (Cummins 2500).
Her Traverse gets pretty good mileage with 25+ highway, 19ish around town with mixed 21-22ish and the medium size allows her comfort for parking around town. It's a great fit but underwhelming with the towing but seating for 7 fits the bill.

Had an over max load 7000 lb dump trailer behind my father in-laws for a while and it towed it really well.

I’m not anti ford at all. Really like some of their stuff. My commuter is my wife’s old escape with almost 200,000 miles on it. Oil and filters and one set of spark plugs and that’s it. My coworker has been a ford only driver his whole life and said his next won’t be, can’t get parts for his current ecoboost.

Ford dumped the diesel because the hybrid. I read somewhere this week that Chebby has set a sunset date on the little diesel too, I just can't remember (because I wasn't interested) what it was. Might be 24 is the last year for them...those on the fence better jump if that is what you want.
Anything is expensive to fix out of warranty but the diesel stuff is stoopid to fix. They have priced the guys who don't really need them out of the market (maintenance alone), myself included. Example...just a few weeks ago BigPig was complaining about his $110+ oil change in his Dodge...mine was $30 in the gas burning v10 2 months ago...it's gotten dumb and it was dumb before the politicians started their spending.
Don't let your ears hear what your eyes didn't see, and don't let your mouth say what your heart doesn't feel As much as I hate to admit it, I do like my truck

It’s the fuel cost, the drive ability and mileage. If I can get 25-30 mpg it would make a lot of sense. I don’t tow super heavy, my boat is 4600# and my trailers 4200# & 3800#. Only caveat is if I had to move my tractor I would need the 3/4 ton diesel but I’ve only had to move it once in 3 years.
