Hog has a snout, that's more of a nose of a bear. Front leg, bends forward , on hog bends back. ^^^^^This would be an important anatomical distinction if true (it isn't)....unless I misunderstand your meaning. If you can clarify for us....it would be helpful. The skeletal arrangement of the front leg of both Feral Hogs and Black Bears are quite similar, both bending the same direction with respect to the Scapula, Humerous, Radial and Ulna. Some minor differences in the Carpal, Metacarpal and Phalanges....but both able to bend front and back. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/08/full-56101-396960-boar_skel.jpeg)

we had game camera pictures over the years of hogs on their back legs eating out of a feeder - not uncommon ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/08/full-56101-397368-hog1.jpg)

The other one still looks like a bear to me ^^^^^^And that is your privilege Sir. The photo is not clear enough to say conclusively one way or the other. Since the OP has not come back and told us 'where' the photo was taken we are left to surmise 'somewhere in East Texas'. In which case it might be appropriate to consider the 'odds' of it being a small bear vs. it being a Feral Hog. Not that anomalies don't occur (as in sightings of Mountain Lions). I simply submit....folks often see what they 'want' to see....more than what is actually there. It is novel and fun to imagine it being a bear. The title itself....solicits for something out of the ordinary. I admit I am not wholly familiar with the anatomy/appearance of black bears, but I AM intimately familiar with that of Feral Hogs and I just don't see 'black bear' in that photo (as much as I would like for that to be true). Perhaps there will be clearer photos in the future. As I can't imagine a bear not returning to such a convenient food source. Sans that....I'll have to stick with Hog.

I agree, if it is a bear it will most likely return. If we don't get any more bear pics, I might start seeing it your way.
