Don't down grade your 22-250, I shoot 55 GR Nosler BT's and kill whitetail and Axis with it. Usually neck shots. I have a Bergara and i put a Leupold VX-3HD 4.5-14x50mm on her.

Have you looked into the Meopta Optika 5 or even the Meosport?
I put a Meosport on a budget build and I am pretty impressed with it. It has an illuminated middle red dot and 3-15 power all for $500.00

Have you looked into the Meopta Optika 5 or even the Meosport?
I put a Meosport on a budget build and I am pretty impressed with it. It has an illuminated middle red dot and 3-15 power all for $500.00 For the cost that Meosport is tough to beat
