If it only made 100 bales you get $500 bucks and this day and age he's giving it away for $50/bale (probably about a $1,500-2,000 profit on his end after his fuel and baling costs since there aren't any other inputs like herbicide or fertilizer) if it's somewhat clean - or he's feeding it to his cows for cheap.
If it's keeping your property in AG + somewhat tamed and you're good with it then probably a fair deal for you. Otherwise - not a great deal IMO.
We got a lot of rain, so it was very thick. Actually got almost 130 bales. It's my MIL property. I'm just helping to manage it. It keeps her in ag, and she seems to like the kid, so she probably won't renegotiate...Lol.

I have 21 acres in Oklahoma, about 5 are planted in wheat, 5 is Love Grass with the remaining being prairie grass. I let a guy cut, bale each year, run calves for about 3 months. He fertilizes it and does all the work. I get a check for between $3,500 and $5,000 each year.
