Well I went to the dark side. English Pointers and a German Wirehair, loved to death. Was looking for another pointer but this guy popped up. Sire has nice shooting dog credentials in first year. Think I’ll be happy.

Great looking pup. A setter is about the only type of hunting dog I have not owned, but I have been around a lot of them. You will be happy I am sure.

Did you plant a bird on the fence in your pic? The one looks like he is locked in.

Thanks everyone My first setter(EP’s and a GWP). He’s very bold so far and very much hunting already. He’s found 2 antelope/Blackbuck skeletons on our new place and loves bringing the bones in.

No birds yet. May introduce him to quail wing tomorrow(not for training but for fun, to see reaction).

Sire won 3 shooting dog derby’s last season, his first. Fingers crossed and very pleased so far.

Looks like he is going to be a lot of fun.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.

Kindall, I think so. He’s coming along well, not on birds yet, just agonizing through the basics.

He is purty and growing like a weed Stick. I’ve never owned a setter but I do admire their style.

Thanks Smokey. Means a lot coming from you. He is growing quickly, he’s at 38 lbs at 20 weeks. His dame is Erin’s. I’ve heard that the Erin’s setters are larger? He’s my first setter, so far a bit less headstrong than the EPs I’ve had before, but still has a lot of curiosity?

Thanks Phil

Hey. He’s 11 months nearly and going to San Angelo for training next week. Smart as heck, birdie and curious. Wish him luck.

Hey there. Trainer is David Egger at Rio Concho. His breeder recommended David. She’s sent two dogs to him for Shooting Dog work/trials.

I have a video sent from the trainer, but can’t get it to upload. It’s his first point?

Ok, picked him up from the trainer today, can’t wait to get him out. Picture from earlier, not his best but wanted to get something out. [Linked Image]
