Lol, 110 at a tight course....... I took him to a wide open course to ease him back into things. He was a single handicap at one point.

I was taking high risk shots, and he was being strategic..... I told him this round doesn't count against out records.... but I guess he took it seriously.

Winstar Scissortail for me later today. Green fee was half of normal rate so I expect it's been aerated or something. Oh well, I needed a change from the muni. Will update how it went but I played well Thursday with a near HIO (18-20") and a near eagle (missed a 12' putt).

Growing up our house backed up to the number 2 green, now number 11, at Canyon Creek country club. We had a membership that came with the house and I played a lot. I could walk out back door and play 3 and 4 or more holes if I wanted to. One summer I played a tournament where we travelled to a bunch of courses around Dallas. Quit playing in college. I played some after graduation until I bought a boat. I always said the best golf weather was also the best fishing weather. After buying the boat I did not play much with the exception of the time my boat was damaged in a storm on Lake Buchanan. When I got the boat back I rarely ever played again.

Saturday's combination of heat and wind made for an interesting 92...one birdie, two pars. Going again at 2:30 today.

We had our member / guest at Midland CC this weekend. 2 rounds were 110*. It was brutal. If you hit it out in the mesquites (my partner did a lot), it was much hotter (130 according to a thermometer). Lots of beer and lots of Gatorade. We also jumped in the pool mid round the first day fully clothed. We were dry in 15 minutes.

Played a round in Vegas in July once. My score was the same as the temp that afternoon, 130. Guys asked if I was playing the next day, they needed a 4th. I respectfully declined. Stayed inside at the motel and watched the pros on tv.

This. 100% this. Also, take a picture of your driver setting before you remove it. I got to AZ last October and was on #10 before my driver adjustments finally looked right.

Lol, one time I pulled my wife's driver and didn't realize it till she couldn't find it in her bag......

A crown royal bag and bubble wrap helps a lot but take the pics too. A second shaft if you're one is none kind of guy..

My Christmas present to myself was a Sun Mountain cart bag. If their travel stuff is anything like my C-130 cart bag, they are the solution.

I played @ the Desert Inn around 85. Played with a three guy`s from Oklahoma who drank like a fish. I never drink while playing golf because I always walked back when I was younger. We all had carts, so I had a few beers just to be social with my new friends from OK. It didn`t help my score any at all and I've never had a beer while playing golf again.

I played a few rounds in Cloudcroft NM last week and the weather was great (about 75 degrees). I hit my 2nd eagle ever and my last one was over 30 years ago. I basically gave up golfing around 1990 when I started fishing almost every chance I got. Started playing again last year after retiring and only get the boat out a few times a year now.

I'm not done but I had to try it out. To bad I have to run to Houston for a concert tonight......

42-38, 3 sloppy doubles on front nine sidetracked the round a little bit. Decent driving, ball striking and putting otherwise; playing on one good leg(torn left knee meniscus)s fun.
