I have a 1986 F 250 and I want the cab painted. Does anyone know of a great paint shop in Fort Worth area that they have used? Thank you
I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

Material has doubled but the painters abilities haven’t, but they think their pay should even though they still spraying orange peel

Car went in shop on Saturday I will post pics when it comes back, he has painted others vehicles in past and does a good job, of course it's and individual and not a shop.

I still remember my dad taking an old '63 Impala to Earl Scheib in downtown Austin in the early 1970s as the original white had brownish places where the OEM paint had gotten so thin the metal was rusting beneath. Did the Earl Scheib $99 special in baby blue. Upon picking it up and getting it home, realized they didn't even wash the car before spraying, still had clumps of caliche on the fenders behind all 4 tires that were painted over.
It was a car a friend of dad's sold him for my brother's first car, within about 2-3 months, all those caliche globs fell off, leaving rusty looking white spots all along the sides of the car.
in summary, I wouldn't recommend any paint shop's "special"

I appreciate all the input. Im not really looking for show quality but do want a good job. Im gonna drive around and pull a horse with it and take it to the lease. The few places have called haven’t called me back and the ones that have act like they don’t have the time or desire to do it. Now I did call Maaco cause a buddy at work used them and it turned out really good. I have read some reviews and they are all over the place. The Maaco man said it’s because they offer 3 levels of deals. Budget and middle and primo. People get they budget and expect primo results. Maaco told me $2000 for primo. 2 stage paint job and minor rust. For what I’m gonna do with it that sounds pretty good.

There's a guy up here that does better than decent work for "cheap", especially if you pay with green paper money.
PM for contact info if not too far away.
Pass the gravy.

I did the online estimate with Maaco as well, fairly easy to deal with

Friend of mine is a trained paint and body man. He said "Maaco can paint. But they do not do a good job on prep."
He and his dad did the body work and prep, then took the car to Maaco. That car got trophies at car shows.
My advice is for you to do the body work yourself. It is not difficult, and YouTube can help. Have the bumper, grill, door handles, trim and flatbed off the truck when you take it to them. And mask the windows yourself. Haul it to them on a trailer. You can do lots of the prep work while you're still using the truck.

Isn't it just cheaper to buy a like a hood if you have hail damage instead of getting it fixed now of days? I just picked up a CAPA certified hood for the Lancer for $200 out the door.

Nice pick-up, They're only original once. You’re right; the dents, rust, oxidation, clear coat fade/peel, and flatbed were all standard factory features in 1986… Cool truck, I have a 97’ f250 OBS I’d LOVE to paint and put a flatbed on. I was quoted $6k-$8k three yrs ago. JG’s recommendation on Maaco coincides with my research as well, the Rockwall one has a good reputation.
