I'll put my answer this way. Dodge has been good to us and never left us on the side of the road. I'm sure others have never been left on the road by a Chevy or Ford. We have our own experiences and which makes us form our opinions

I like my 23 F-150 but the electronics seem a little glitchy and I only have 7000 miles on it. It does have all the bells and whistles and they are nice. 400 hp and 500 ft-lb is plenty with the 10 speed. Getting a solid 19 in a 4x4. Good enough for me. It’s a toss up based on preference in the 1/2 ton market.
I think in grown up trucks it’s Ford then Dodge. The rest are for those who want a truck but don’t need a truck.

There really is no debate. We all have our individual experiences and that's what we go off of.
My experience is with Ford, I bought my first new ford pick up in 1989..have been driving Ford pickups about 15 of them in over 36 years. I just kept upgrading to trims, models, 4x4 etc. My wife has driven countless Ford vehicles and none of these has ever given a problem. Minus a heated steering wheel going out our a squeaky clutch pedal I had on my 1994.
With that kind of success nothing can steer me away from a Ford truck. This includes all of the 3/4 ton diesels I have owned and driven.(actually logged well over 1 million miles on Ford diesel trucks).
I bleed blue, but this is what I have experienced and YMMV.
Again there is no debating with me.

F150 for 1/2 ton. Ram 2500 or 3500 for 3/4 to 1 ton.
Observation: I see more Ram's on the road actually towing.

I think the Toyota Tacoma is the most iconic truck. What other truck can last their owner 30+ years?

Ford is reliable and retains value more than others bar GMC and Toyota. Tudra's engines likely most reliable. RAMs may look the best but bad value retention. I'm generally a F-150, 3.5L Eco guy but may just go RAM Hemi on the next one.

And the new, 2014 and newer, don’t have those issues. I’ve never once parked in a garage or used a sun screen and my dash is perfect. Now my 2012 Ford? Well the dash popped up from the heat and would never go back down and the door panel fell off, both in summer of 2013, glad to send that turd down the road after the oil leak.

I’d take both doors missing a a pile of steaming dook on the dash before I’d drive a Toyota though, hell you might as well buy a Prius and put a trailer hitch in it- same thing

My Dad (brilliant auto mechanic) was a diehard Chevy guy and as a result so am I. I’ve alway thought of Fords as the national truck of our South of the border friends and Dodges to be a POS. Tundra’s used to peak my interest but garbage gas mileage always kept me away. Today’s Tundra looks just like a Silverado in my opinion.

The key is to realize they all suck, so just pick the one you think looks the best and is best equipped for your needs and hope it isn’t a turd.

Lifelong Silverado guy til the engine blew up on a brand new truck.
Now I have a Tacoma and I love it. 400 miles on one tank.
The F150s just look too good not to drive one.

One of the things I really do like about my new F-150 is the optional 36 gallon tank. With 112 miles round trip to work and 12 hour shifts I no longer have to get gas during the four day work week. The 26 gallon on the 2000 model wouldn’t make it.

This one checks all the boxes. I liked my 1987 F150. It had the 351 HO with the Holley double pumper. HP rating was not comparable to today's engines but back in 1987 it was about as good as they came. Headed west on 20 to Ranger one time I opened up the Holley and swore I could see the gas gauge move. Buddy of mine buried his Ford 65hp tractor on his ranch twice. Hooked up my tow strap and jerked it out. For the most part it was trouble free over 150k miles. Just normal stuff for trucks back then like alternator, starter, and water pump. In those days those items were easy fixes for a DIYer.

My , I have a 2011 Chevy 2500. I bought it with 75K miles on it, it has almost 160K on it now. The only thing I have done to it are oil changes, tires and one battery. I've hauled cows and hay across a portion of the state and never had a problem (knock on wood). On edit, I did have to replace a pressure switch for the A/C. Intermittent hot/cold issue.
