I think it's very interesting that so many independent handloaders find the same accuracy node at 47.5 grains. I almost never get good results on recommended load data.

It works really well in my 7-08 also. 20 Inch barrel and was able to push the 140's to around 2920 with Lapua brass. Unfortunaltely the node was around 2850. But still way faster than Varget and 4064. 1/2 MOA on the first couple 5 shot groups with an SD of 6.8

This powder is back in stock also!! Good to hear it's working well for everyone!! Keep the load data coming.
I am using it in my personal 308 Win, 224 Valkrie, and some 223 hunting ammo. It's doing very well with top velocities.

I will be in Fort Worth around the 24th. I plan on stopping by and grabbing another 10lbs or so.

For AR-10, are you putting mild crimp on loads?

Has anyone worked up any loads with the 223/5.56?

Has anyone worked up any loads with the 223/5.56? I haven’t loaded 223 yet but it works well in 22-250 with 55 grain pills. Not the same, I know but, seems to be a fast enough powder to work in 223 with the 50-55 grainers.

Has anyone worked up any loads with the 223/5.56? Yes, I have some good data. I’ll look tomorrow for you, but I think I was running 25.5 grains with a 75 grain Hornady bthp. I’ll confirm it for you.

I loaded some 62 gr. bullets up with 24.0 grains of 763 in my 22 inch bolt gun. Did not chrony but got a tackdriver of a load. How did you decide on a max load?

Did not decided yet! I can push more than that actually however due to some lack of time i wasn't able to do more.
Hoping to have some spare time this winter to test more.
In regard to the loads, with the 55gr the best group that I got was with 26gr. With 68gr none of the groups were good, however with 24.5gr there was some improvement (like 2MOA...)

Currently I am trying to find a good load using 80 gr. ELDM in a 22 ARC. Good but not splendid accuracy at 27.5 grains. I have one with 62 gr. Midsouth Black Tips but though I am getting no pressure signs accuracy goes to hell with one more grain over 28.5. Might be spinning them too fast. This data is from a gas gun and I am not confident enough to recommend it. Work up yourself.

Guys, would a 45, 50 or 55gr .223 projectile be too light for this powder?

I ran some 223 Remington loads over the chronograph and were surprised at the results. I loaded the Sierra 69gn HPBT @ 2.26 OAL. I used both Hodgdon CFE223 load data along with Alliant 2000-MR load data to pick a starting load and a max load. Alliant listed 26.6 (FPS-3070)suggested with the Sierra projectile and Hodgdon CFE223 listed 23.5gn (FPS-2788) start and 25.8gn Max (FPS-3029).
The rifle used was a old AR build with a 20" Colt pencil barrel with a chrome bore. I don't remember the twist of the barrel but it should be 1/12 but could be 1/9. The handguards require some work to remove to make sure but I am not up to it today! I used this barrel as it is easier to get velocity readings then it is with my AR carbines with a 16" barrel as the handguards get in the way. Chrono was a Magnetospeed. I weigh each powder charge on a electronic scale to insure consistency. I loaded up 3 rounds in each chosen powder weight that I was going to test. I started off at 25.5 and went up to 26.5. NOTE: I had previously loaded some 55gn fmj with this same powder, so I had an idea/experience behind my choice of starting loads with the 69gn.
RESULTS:
Grains/AVG/SD/ES 25.5 2818/7/14 did not measure as it was to the left of the target
25.8 2885/24/44 outside to outside edge, 1.25
26.0 2900/8/17 Most accurate, outside edge to outside edge, .640
26.2 2908/27/50 1.375
26.5 2939/16/33 1.375
It was tough conditions at the range today with a little front blowing in with some light rain and a lot of wind. I would not blindly load up using this data I posted, all guns are different and all loading equipment is different so give yourself a safety margin and start low and work your way up with YOUR loads, YOUR equipment and YOUR rifle! I could tell and expected to see pressure increase as the powder weight increased and it did. But it was not enough to concern me in this rifle. I will try out the 26.0 load in my 16" rifles as time allows. Oh and primers used were the Winchester SR. So in my 223 rifle, I would say the SMP-763 powder is really close but just a shy slower then Alliant 2000-MR. Thanks again to Chad for bringing in and sharing his powder find!!

Finally got around to loading up some of this powder in few of my AR's (.223/5.56), and figured somebody could use the data. I was shooting the RMR 75 gr 3GH. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/02/full-59609-446277-img_4405.jpg)
