Drinking water is not about losing weight...Yes, it can help you feel more full, but it's really about how your body's systems function. Plus, being well hydrated helps your stool be a bit softer and you don't have to strain as much, if at all, when you have a bowel movement. Also, fat is excreted through breathing primarily, and then body fluids like sweat, urine, tears, etc. I don't drink water because I want to finish evicting my weight, it's because I need it...but I get a lot of mine from the foods I eat. Plain water is gross.

I have never been a big firm believer in drinking alot of water
Just drink water when you feel thirsty, that is how I treat water Red, Ive never heard of drinking water only when thirsty as being healthy. But Im no expert at all, just always heard to drink a lot. How much water you drink per day for weight loss is meaningless Thanks, Red, interesting. Ill try to remember to run it by my doctor, trainer and everyone else thats told me to drink water. Of course, Im not trying to lose weight, so theres that..... I walk alot and spend alot of time outside, I just drink when I am thirsty. I don't try to drink so many xxx number of cups per day, I find that silly. You get alot of water from the food you eat as well OP was about diet and loosing weight

It's individual based on metabolism, activity levels, and body weight. There is a simple calculation based on body weight to get you in the ballpark. Unless you eat watermelon 6X/day you it's a myth that you get what you need to be hydrated from the food you ingest daily.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

Good job, I found your 19 pounds if you want them back. How young are you? 53 years young..... My goal weight is to be around 170lbs. I am 5'6" so I think that would be an ok weight.. I know the stats say I should be like 140lb but that is too light for me. 5'7" had a 27" waist till hit me 40's High school was 120lbs. Best shape was 140/160 Could curl 60lb one arm. now wear a 36" britchs. Cant tear me way outa a wet brown paper bag. Whin your back goes, everything goes. Started canoeing/kayaking river keep upper strength. Never got inta lighting weights. Spent whole day walking down @ sabine. Later biking, got a paddle boat, for legs. Staying @ the high 180's-200lb mark. Tis tougher the older ya get. on the weight loss. Best wish's ta all.
