First fert tomorrow Boi's! Go time. What y'all going out with? I`m going with 18-24-6 from TSC and 50 lbs. of Sulphur today(just like last year). Next month I`ll start using AMS every month with my last application on 10-1. Already have enough fertilizer for this year and some for next. Still need to get 2 more bags of Sulphur for this year though. Next year's soil sample will give me the results of using the Sulphur and AMS. Hopefully it moved the PH down enough. I don`t have plans on going down the rabbit hole and chasing the PH # after this year. 300 lbs. on 10,000 sq. ft. in 2 years (33.33/1,000) will have to do. Especially with Sulphur @ 50 bucks per bag. I am going to bump up my AMS from 2.5 lb. per 1000 sq. ft. to 3 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. (about 20% more N) in May and June just to see the results.

I got my ES at Lowes in Weatherford last year in February. It was less than 30 bucks and they had about 20 bags stored up high and out of sight. I should have bought more than 3 bags.

Can already picture that JD commercial with the masters clips and simple man playin in the background… then it pulls the view back to a guy watching that through the Telly and sets a nice iced JD/coke down on a side table while kicking back the recliner

now see that is way cool, is that a turtle resort to the far left?
I think you should put up solar powered motion sensor lights in the corners so you can tell your kids they are trying a prison break at night.

Derek, where did you get those plastic panels to make the elevated beds? I have used the HD landscape timbers (like a round pole with flats on top & bottom) but they only last 4-5 years before they rot out.

I've had these 4yrs I believe. They are holding up very well. They come in a single pack, a 2 pack with lid and a 3 pack and they are stackable. Shop around online from TSC, Depot, Amazon or direct from Lifetime. One of those store will typically have some type of sale. I got a single pack from TSC last week to cut up for $70 and free shipping. https://www.lifetime.com/lawn-and-garden

I think you should put up solar powered motion sensor lights in the corners so you can tell your kids they are trying a prison break at night. That was their original enclosure. Now they can walk of it and still consider the OG homebase. Going to put in some other hides/shady areas for them. Prison break. lmao.

That looks like little boxwoods popping up. You can get Crossbow at Tractor Supply. Fill up a bingo dauber with it. You can tape the dauber to a broomstick so you don't have to bend over. Walk around and hit each one, once or twice with the dauber. That would be the safest way without damaging too much St. Aug.

What’s the preferred method and brand of Iron that won’t stain the concrete? Feature. It's a great product. It's eddha and edta chelation. Won't stain and easily foliar absorbed/readily plant available. I use it a 1-1.5oz (by weight) per 1000sq feet every 2 weeks and love the results. I haven't started using it this season yet. I just kinda eyeball my color and decide when to start. And it's tank friendly with just about anything. If I'm going to spray some fungicide out, I'll add feature. I try and plan my sprays where I can tank and do stuff every 2 weeks or 4 weeks. I don't want to just spray feature and then remember oh next week I need to spray a fungicide or a soluble fertilizer and I'm out there spraying every week. I want the least amount of apps as possible and not create more work. This is also where a soil test would come in handy. Just going off Ph only. If you have the high Ph like me at 7.5ish I know iron apps are going to improve my color as iron is bound up in the soil and not available to the roots, but you can bypass the root system and spray it and then it is plant available immediately via foliar uptake. If you're at a super low Ph like 5 then you need to bring it up a little with lime and iron and other micros will be root absorbed and you'll see a color improvement naturally. Depending on what is available in that soil. And then that goes back to the soil test. https://i-want-feature.square.site/shop/feature/2

I think some substituted Main Event. My supply was good so I never looked into Main Event and I have been buying Feature from the site Derek linked.

I ordered 2 bags back in January after remembering that it was out of stock some of the time last year. I used this product last year @ 1.5 oz. per 1000 and really happy with the results. This was 6-5-23 last year after mowing. It looked much greener 2-3 days after mowing with new growth. Good stuff.

Time to get GrubEx out. It won't kill the current grubs in the soil. It will kill new grubs trying to enter into the soil and will also cover you for army worms.

I’ve been so pre occupied with the bee’s the last several weeks I’d forgotten all about that. If we can avoid a few days of rain I need to spot treat a few weeds anyway so I’ll add this to my weekend agenda. We’re finally greening up around here so hopefully I can get back on my yard routine soon. Tpack that’s a beautiful yard!!!
