In my opinion cats are usually worth more than thier owners. Why on earth do so many cat owners feel its OK to let their precious kitty wonder the neighborhood shatting in peoples flower beds and gardens, stalking peoples bird feeders, climbing all over peoples cars, having thier kittens under peoples decks, sleeping and pizzing in peoples boats......I could go on and on? And then they wonder what happend to the little kitty when it comes up missing!  We had a white fluffy one around here probably 10 years ago that was trap shy. None of the neighbors could catch it in one of those live traps. Then one morning I found it shredded to pieces along the creek. Me and the Yotes became best friends after that. I even left them some old ground up venison for desert the next night. Yep. People suck. People and their pets suck even more. How anyone can become attached to an animal as evil as a house cat is beyond me.

After initial purchase, vet bills, trainer fees, feed bills, and hunting lease fees, I’m pretty upside down with my 4 birddogs. It’s a negative #. And the 16.5 yo, retired Britt has been on the pension plan for the past 4 seasons.
Have had a couple get out and go for a walkabout and were found. I offered up some compensation for one of them, but it was turned down.

After initial purchase, vet bills, trainer fees, feed bills, and hunting lease fees, I’m pretty upside down with my 4 birddogs. It’s a negative #. And the 16.5 yo, retired Britt has been on the pension plan for the past 4 seasons.
Have had a couple get out and go for a walkabout and were found. I offered up some compensation for one of them, but it was turned down. 68, those arent "pets". I havent googled "pets" but I consider by definition a pet has no real purpose other than to offer some form of companionship. I dont lack for companionship so I dont have pets(kids grown.) Dogs like yours are different.

I guess I identify as a binary pet lover. I never liked cats growing up but I have a barn cat now that I like a lot. . We have Barn Cat that I've become pretty fond of. Great Mouser. I`ve lived in the country for 25 years and see as many dogs as I do cats running loose. Even saw 3 dogs with collars running loose @ my deer lease twice this year while I was in my blind. 30 years ago, I would have killed them, but I figured if they were running loose long enough, someone else would do it for me.

I told my kids cats are disposable pets when we got a couple for the barn and not to get too attached to them. They are still around 5 years later and do a pretty good job. I’m surprised.
My bird dogs are worth what it would cost to replace them. Not near as much as they were a few years ago when there were bird everywhere. They aren’t young anymore, but still have many good years left. Especially the French Brittany’s, those dogs seem to last forever.

^^^^ If you're around me long enough you'll hear the same stories over and over. In recent years I've gotten pretty boring. You’re not boring me yet. I appreciate some of that brain power and the times we’ve meet for a deal or two. Keep on keeping on.
