I have not heard the neighbors peacock today. Maybe it was last night's dinner.

Pros: best alarm system you'll have
eat all kinds of bugs and will thin out the snakes by eating their kids
can sell their tail feathers to offset the feed cost
annoy the hell out of your annoying neighbors
will kick the hell out of any turkeys looking for a fight
nice to have around

Cons: loud, see pro tip #1
crap everywhere

We have a big group of them in the neighborhood. They’re awesome if you’re into hearing them every time you slam your truck door and if you enjoy the smell of cat [censored]

Like everything there’s pros and cons.

There are some trophies on Sagebrush!

Think I'm gonna Pull the trigger, Like I said they can always be re-homed if it doesn't work out. I have about 12 acres and should be plenty of food and pasture to roam.
Big trees to roost in as well and not much concrete to crap on.
What about the cold, winter time?
For those that have them, Payne, should I look for poults or full grown?
Just about ready to turn my chickens loose in the coop, been raising them in the garage for about 6 weeks. So if needed, I can raise them in the tub the chicks were kept in.

My wife has been after me to find a couple for our place in Savoy, but I'm afraid our Jagd terrier would have a show down with them when we are out there. Not sure how that would turn out for either of them.

There was a group of them at Lanshire & Goforth are of Dallas. One night we had an officer assist and I came across NW Hwy at about 80 mph and smoked one. Feathers everywhere.

I always enjoyed stung them and hearing them. Damn glad I didn’t live by them.

I raised poults, it's basically the same as other birds just bigger. They do fine in the cold as long as they have some type of shelter.
