I am going to frame mine out with 2x3 footers and headers with 2x4 studs in the ribs. The ceiling will be 2x4s tied into the walls with hurricane clips, only because I am using screws versus nails for construction. Once the walls, ceiling, wiring and plumbing are in place, I am going to have the member from the fishing forum spray foam it 100% to the face of the studs, because I will be living in mine full time once it is complete. There will be no exterior windows or doors, entry will be thru the original doorway, for security purposes. If you use closed cell spray foam, there is no reason to have ventilation between the interior and exterior walls, because there is no way for the condensation to form. The ventilation for the interior is simple, I will be using an automatic controlled exhaust system with a humidistat, a dual zone dehumidifier mini split system with heat pump.

Condensation is your biggest enemy, so no gas appliances, not to mention the carbon monoxide poisoning. Loose batt insulation is a no go as well for the same reasons, it allows condensation to form between the walls. I have researched this ad nauseum, if you want to PM me, I will get you my contact

condensation issue is way over blown. Vent the top and you wont have issues. Out of the two I personally built and two others I helped remodel none had condensation issues. If you are really that worried most window units have dehumidifer or just buy a dehumidifier. I use just a small bucket of damp rid in summer and never have much in it.

my beach house in Rockport has worse condensation issues and I just leave a ceiling fan on low in main rooms, and it fixes it

We haven't had any moisture issues. But we are like 70 miles east of Lubbock, soooo... flame

I have gone a different route. Space too limited in the metal containers. Several years ago, I found a 10 X 30 single BR with bath converted job trailer and paid $6K for it. Had to pay $1.2K to move it, but had instant living quarters which included a full kitchen and a full bath. Spent another $900 on a big window A/C unit. Heated with ceramic heaters and that just wasn't an an issue. Wanted a second BR, so I sold it to a buddy for $5K. He was happy. Used it for ten years I think. Could've gotten more for it, the buyer is a buddy so I passed along a good deal.

Wanted that 2nd BR so I "stole" a 10X40 unit that came with huge plus - central heat & A/C..

Prior owner went down to the studs, reinsulated it & finished it out. With the electrical hook up and all, I paid $12K and could not be happier. These deals are out there.

The extra width is only 2 feet, but it provides space for additional comfort, We have electricity and those plug in electronic mice deterrent products have kept it "vermin free". Never had an issue with rodents with them in use, never.

Mine is almost identical to birddogman. I used 1/2" insulation board glued to wall and ceiling. 10000 but ac keeps it cool. Mounted in wall recessed 2 feet inside doors. Heat is an elec oil filled. Built a 8 ft cover over doors and 20x20 on side bolted to container lifting lugs
