We have a local 9-hole random team draw scramble at the muni up here in Gainesville. $10 entry. Winning team gets the pot unless there's a large number of players (20+?) then they split the pot 70-30 or so with second place.

Pass the gravy.

Is it glow ball or under lighting; I played the Lake Park one 15 years ago, was fun...

Lake Park is too flat and too intersecting for someone like me. Miss a fairway and some jackwagon will pick up the ball because a miss is on another fairway.

Anyway, no glow ball, no lights at the Gainesville Municipal course. We play it at 6:00 and it's over before dark.

Pass the gravy.

We had about 12 of us that used to play Lakepark after work on Wednesday evenings. Rinki-dink little course, but it was perfect for our group… lots of beginners. We handicapped it and had a little trophy that the winner got to keep at their desk for the week. Good times!

Lake Murray was very slow, the staff didn't honor a reservation properly, and I made it out of the notoriously difficult greens with 29 putts. Yes, it was a 96 from the tips but only 29 putts.

Pass the gravy.

Looked it up online. Very interesting. Pretty short course and a par 70.

Yes sir, very narrow off the tee. but fun

Only downside is they don't have a driving range.

Usually in good shape too

Great course for the money. They have several holes with elevated tee boxes. Par 3s are pretty fun as well.

Agree! The nice part of Oak Cliff. Used to play there a long time ago.

I'm playing spurts of good golf her and there as of late. Last week I was 7 over on the first two holes on the front side, and managed three over for the next 7 holes...... I blew up the backside pretty bad though...... yesterday the wife and I played a two person 9 hole scramble, she stunk it up really bad. So bad that we only played two of her shots. If we didn't play two of her shots I would of probably shot 1 or 2 over, with her help we were -1. That was probably the best 9 holes I've ever put together.

I think the wife and I will probably take in the Texas open tomorrow. I would take her golfing, but she needs some range work before we head to the course again.

First week of scramble had only four teams of two. My team came in second by one stroke so I'm -$10 to start 2023.

Pass the gravy.

Some pics from the Texas Open

The beautiful finishing hole.

A little bit of South Texas on this hole.

We had a lot of fun following this group, they were cracking jokes, and having a good ole time.

How often do you see this? 6 golfers on the fairway at the same time. They wanted to tee off before the horn sounded. It was getting dark already.

Former Longhorn Beau Hossler sinking a birdie putt on the 18th.

After sinking that birdie putt he throws his golf ball to us.

Yep, great day with the wife. She was a real trooper, apparently we walked 14 miles, and were out there for 11 hours.

Lottery system through Augusta National. They announced winners last June I think.

They accept requests after the Masters, then reject you in June.
