My new-to-hunting retiree buddy has been visiting for a couple of days and, since the game cams showed a really punctual boar showing up with astonishing regularity, we made a short sit this evening and he dispatched the boar with a textbook lung shot. I've got a fondness for accommodating pigs...and my buddy is now two for two on hogs.

Definitely a good-sized boar.

Keep at it. That is how I started, one boar at a time. I wasn't seeing much in the way of sounders, only boars and bachelor boar groups for the most part.

Great job, you can tell by the mud on the pig's face he's been tearing up somebodies place, maybe yours.

Pretty work. Good size hog. What rifle and cartridge were used ? Thanks for the pics & post. Keep him going. We need all the help we can get.

That’s a Remington 700 chambered for 6mm/.223…a wonderfully useful wildcat for the Hill Country.

Is that not the same as 6x45? Or is it different in some way?

Absolutely the same cartridge...I just usually reference the parent case as it seems easier for more folks to recognize.
