I like Lenovo for laptops, But I only buy them when they are on sale which they run sales quit often called Door Busters
I have great luck with the ThinkPad Carbon Series

These are great, just get one with SSD hard drive. Lenovo are good too. We sell only business laptops and mostly Dell Latitude and Lenovo, not a fan of HP.

I have had great luck with them.

This Jason, I buy these for my work laptops and have never had a problem. Doing video editing you might fill up the 512GB hard drive pretty quickly, but easy fix with external drive. No games. Email, internet, some video/photo editing, Microsoft Office.

That's what just locked up on me. It maybe got used 5 hours since I got it. Never again! This has been close to my experiences with all laptops. They take a dump in a short period of time compared to a desktop. This gateway desktop I'm typing on right now I got new in 2013. I would lean towards a pad with Mircosoft office capabilities over a laptop all day.

My wife and I have had great luck with Asus. I think we've had 4 or 5 and they usually last 4-5 years.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 14" screen is pretty good deal. Super light weight and great to travel with , I have on it going on year 4, Half price for $1175. Lenovo

It's on sale for $1000 at Costco right now. MacBookJason doesn't need an MAC trust me on this. He uses android phone anyway. Not sure why everyone thinks MACs are the best for video/photo editing. I understand that most of the people that do video/photo editing are the "influencer" crowd, most of which are millennial hipster types that go MAC instead of PC just to be different. I use a $4500 Alienware PC for my graphics/web/video editing, but I've also used my Surface Laptop with same results just slower than the Alienware.

Go to Best Buy, tell the guy who REALLY knows computers what you want. He will show you a few choices. Get the GEEK squad coverage and GOOD spyware. Helps keep the porn from crashing it.

I totally agree on the difference between the AW and MacBook. But as far as similar priced laptops out there the PC's will edit video/photos just as well as the MAC. Like Mickey said, Apple makes solid hardware and really their software is pretty solid as well. I love my iphone and ipad, I tried android once and paid $600 to pay off my brand new phone just so I could trade it in on a iPhone. I hated the android phone.
