XX black powder which is “rifle/shotgun”grain size. Really need one “X” or “ BP Cannon” to give it a full run. Because the smaller grain (faster burning) I was loading light plus shooting very light projectiles.

This cannon is designed to fire a 19 lb cast iron projectile attached to a 700 rope. Max load was 8 oz. Recoil with a 1.5 oz charge was about 6’….recoil with 8 oz charge was significantly farther…..

Here is a longer vid which shows the loading process. In case anyone is wondering, SnakeWrangler made sure proper fire and safety measures were in place. This is a real deal cannon, not a toy. (and it was fun as hell)

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

Last weekend we fired off a bluff across a valley. Today we fired it towards a tree line about 80 yards away…the report was much louder today! eek2

No sir! But when I find a long plowed field I will have people down range to better measure distance given load and projectile

You're so lucky you live "over yonder". Popo would have been all excited here.

You got any volunteers to catch your projectiles? I'll pass
