Only ever seen one, don’t think I’d shoot one.

got one on our lease in Dickens county-seen him a couple of times. Felt no desire to kill him.

I feel attacked.

I won't shoot another. I get it. I am looking forward to the tanned hide and remembering the time and place I had the encounter.

They are so unique and interesting looking that I would consider shooting one to have mounted. I look at mounted animals just like artwork/decor. Gods artwork/handiwork. If you can associate an accomplishment and/or memory with it then all the better.

What is it? Badger...

I'm in the minority, but I don't really like mounted animals that I have shot. I had my first really good buck shoulder mounted, and the next year I killed a bigger one. I prefer Euro mounts, I like to pick them up, get a hold of them, maybe take them to show family. It's more of a connection. That's why I'm really looking forward to the tanned hide of this badger thrown over the back of my desk chair.

That said, if I ever kill an absolute giant (170+) he's going on the wall.

In 50+ years of hunting in Texas, I've only seen two. One was fighting a rattlesnake. I sat and watched 👀 that fighting from my truck. The badger won.

I've gotten pics of one at my place on and off now the past couple years and have always seen it's holes. Hell, it dug one right under my cattle trailer behind my barn last year even!
I want to kill it and have my cousin life size mount it to put on my mesquite mantle by our wood stove

Have seen exactly two.

One in South Texas while on a bowhunt for Javelina and the other believe or not in Mills County (Goldthwaite) back in the mid 70's.
