I have seen some shed in late December and others still carrying them in early April. Had 2 nice bucks come by the second week of April one had about 2 inches of new growth while the othre still had a nice 10 point rack. Depends on the deer I guess

1) MLDP tags are good to Feb. 28...so the state of Texas doesn't think it is that unusual. 2) I live in Sun City in the outer city limits of Georgetown and see hard horned deer until March every year. I don't have hard data (pun intended!) but it appears that the largest deer are the last to drop.

I see several bucks a day that still have not dropped. Couple more weeks it should start.

Haven't seen a shed buck yet on my place in the panhandle. Last year, I had bucks wearing headgear into April.

Saw a small mulie buck out by Lake Merideth yesterday. He had a spike on one side. Was he shed or just broken off. Couldn't tell, he was more than 100 yards away and moving through brush. The spike I saw through the binos was about 6 inches long.
