Has to be material, not spouse, family, kids or feelings. Has to be an item.
Something that tugs at your heart with sentiment feelings involved. Something you really want to pass on to "your" next generation with an explanation.
Pics would be cool.

A model my Great grandfather built of a bomb for TI. He has an array or used to on display. My dad currently has it on his desk. Grandpa built it for me and I will get a picture later this week. He milled an Aim 9 and I was about as old as my kids are when I sat on it. Maybe little older.

My grandfather was born in an Armenian village in southern Turkey…his grandfather (my great great grandfather) attended the first Worlds Fair in Chicago. He brought back to the town a Santa Claus suit…..somehow, my grandfather, through the Armenian genocide of 1915, when most of his family was killed by the Turks, managed to keep it with him when he emigrated through Ellis Island in 1922.
He gave that Santa suit to me….and now, some 125 years later, it is my most prized possession.

Something I'll never get rid of, no money can buy it, is my Maverick 88 20 gauge my dad got me for Christmas 7 years ago.

An AirKing watch that I bought myself when I was 17 or a Winchester 12 gauge that I had custom fitted with AAA grade French Walnut in my 20s. The shotgun is probably the most beautiful thing that I own.

When I was 14, my parents divorced (best thing ever!). That Christmas we didn't have much, in fact, Mom bought me underwear and socks... we used to get 30+ gifts from our parents every Christmas prior, but that's all she could afford. The next Christmas there was one box each under the tree for my sister and I. Mom bought us both a VERY expensive leather bomber jacket. It was her way of letting us know we were gonna be ok. I outgrew mine eventually (I could still wear it, but the arms didn't fit right anymore), but kept it in my closet in great condition for almost 30 years. It was my most prized possession all those years.
Just before Christmas 2021, I replaced the lining and gave it to my best friend. He had miraculously survived a car accident that March and as I told him, it was my way of letting him know he was going to be ok.
After his accident and the trauma team saved his life (he had to be revived 3 times at the hospital) the doctors gave him a 5% chance of survival and actually didn't think he would walk again if he did. Once he was released I went to his parents house 3 days a week, 4 hours a day to work on him with the goal to keep his muscles pliable and strong, and help the nerves regrow (this routine continued for 8 months; I see him once a week now at my office). On the 89th day, I got his butt up out of that wheelchair and he took his first steps. His mom was videoing it, which I knew... However, what I didn't know was that she was still recording after he sat back down. It was at this time he and I were both crying and hugging each other. He took a screenshot of that part of the video and printed a photo, framed it, and gave that to me for Christmas 2021. It hangs on my bedroom wall. It is now my most prized possession.

A little smooth-bore single shot 22 rifle that belonged to my grandfather, that my mom learned to shot with.

I don't have one single most prized possession. But, I do have a few prized possessions that will get passed down with stories. My grandfather's knife that I pretty much tried to destroy as a teenager. One of my hunting buddies, a creek Indian who is a good leather worker restored the knife and made a custom sheath. I also have my grandfather's service revolver with his holster from when he was police chief in Pawhuska, OK. A very ornate belt buckle from my grandfather on the other side of my family. It's less about the item, and more about the story and the connection with loved ones. Who knows which item my son will inherit and make a connection with. All that matters to me is that he recalls the good times we had together.

We grew up poor. Really poor. My dad worked numerous jobs to make ends meet. There are 2 things I have from him that were gifts and I know he worked his [censored] off for them. One is a stuffed bear that he gave me when I was born, I have pictures of that bear from 1 day old and still have it. The other is my 270 that he bought after my parents divorced, it was only $270 but I know how hard he worked for it. Neither of those items will ever leave my care until the day I die.

I probably have three or four things I could call prized possessions. One would be a single shot 12GA that was my Fathers.
My family on my Father's side had a tradition that went back who knows how many generations. Sons on their 12th birthday would be given their first shotgun and then be allowed to go on the family hunts. There was an annual hunt to be held just before my Father's 12th birthday. My Father asked my grandfather if he could have the shotgun so he could go on the hunt. My Grandfather told him no, tradition was tradition. My Grandmother intervened and made my Grandfather give him the shotgun early and take him on the hunt.
Hard times my Grandparents left Oklahoma for California. Part way my Grandfather still a young man came down with Cancer and did not survive the journey. My Grandmother and Father were allowed to live in a horse barn by a generous farmer as they had no money or place to stay. After the farmer left the barn from feeding horses, my family often ate rotten lettuce that had been left for the horses. My Dad's only possession was that shotgun. Hungry he went out one day to find something to eat. All he found was a crow. He shot it, built a fire, and roasted it on a stick feathers and all. He said it was the worst tasting thing he ever ate.
I found that shotgun in my parents closet several years ago rusted and broken in pieces. I wondered why they had it considering it's condition, then learned of it's history. I asked if I could have it. Sometime later I invited my Dad on an Alligator hunt with me. When it was time for him to shoot his alligator I pulled his old shotgun from a case and presented it to him. I had removed the rust, reblued it, repaired it to working condition, pinned the stock back together and refinished it. It's the only time I can ever remember seeing him tear up.

A cross I asked my Grandfather to buy at church picnic when I was around 6 years old. My father was not happy that I asked him to buy it for me. It has been above my bed for over 52 years now. I can still remember the day. I still do not know what made me want it so bad but its the most special thing in my household. I try to remember to get a picture of it.

I doubt I could narrow it down to one thing, but one of my most prized is this pic from March 1946. I've shared this here before. Anyone recognize the guy in the middle?

My mothers Bible! She made lots of notes in it through out the years about many things, mainly family stuff. Unfortunately a lot of times when a parent dies it brings out the greed and selfishness in some people, somehow this Bible got overlooked by others who were taking whatever they wanted before she even passed away. The Bible was in the middle of a little book shelf in the main hallway, there were lots of cool personal letters that my mom had written in it.

One I prize most is my grandad's sterling silver Tbar ranch tie holder shown in the middle pic.
