What do y’all use to clean creasote from the inside of glass on your wood stove? It’s been so long since I did it, I can’t remember what I used. I do remember I had to replace a gasket after cleaning last time, hoping to find something not as caustic.

We just get some damp newspaper and dip it in the ashes and wipe the glass down til clean. Then we just clean it with wet paper towels. Works good.

This is what I do too. If you don't have any newspaper handy, those blue shop paper towels work almost as well.
