Nice scopes but a little hefty for me.

Last summer at the gun show here in Waco, the Arken rep gave me a great deal on the SH4 GEN II 4-16X50 MOA VPR with a veterans discount for $250, included mounting rings and lens covers. It's the basic model and so thought would give it try.
It's heavy dude but was deadly accurate going thru my .308 Vangard. It has a 34mm tube and lighted reticle was sighted in at 200. I was surprised with the clarity in low light and the ease with the light adjustment at twilight on some coons!
As good as this base model is, I can imagine how good the top level must be! So far I have no regrets.

I’m using 3 of the SH4 6-24x50 and 1 EP 5-25x56. I’ve had no issues with them at all. I’ve hit steel out to 800 yards with the EP 5-25. Well worth the money to me.

I was able to make hits farther this weekend than I ever have. Out to 1065 on an 8" wide x 6" tall rock in 10-20mph variable winds. Elevation was dead nuts, but was only able to hit it about half the time due to wind. Out to 880 yds I could hit targets about 75% of the time, but not necessarily the first time. Love the scopes so far, and the Sako S20 is an awesome shooter.

It does seem the Chinese made stuff is getting better but I avoid it as much as I can. Mainly due to the politics of it. LOL I can remember when folks thought the Japanese made products were cheap crap and nowadays that’s the good stuff along with German/ Austrian. In the past year I have added 3 Burris’s and a Steiner to the herd just because they are made in USA. I have looked thru one Arken EP 5-25 and it looked OK and the guy using it said he bought it to stay in production class where there is a price cap.

Agree with you on Chicom political views. Sad fact is we all use Chicom stuff everyday whether we want to or not, like when we post on this forum.
