POS bow and company

I bought one from Cabelas, along with extra bolts, soft case etc. a couple of years ago. The bolt retainer spring caused problems after about 25 shots. Won’t [censored]. Talked to Cabelas and the bow shop guy said to bring it in but he only had one maintenance guy and a couple of years backup on repairs of bows needing attention.

So, I started calling Killer Instinct. I left quite a few messages about my problem. No response. Looked at their parts list and they show a different part than on my bow. I went ahead and bought it but, I was right. Wrong part. Left a phone message about that with no response.

Getting sick and tired of trying.

Now we know how they can sell 400+ fps x bows for < $300, don't support their product.

Hate to say it but I wish you luck on getting this corrected. Wish I could help but not doing that work any more.

I recently saw one of these that midwayusa had at nearly 40% clearance. I thought that discount was odd this early in the year. Then I looked at the same crossbow on Amazon to get the reviews. Many horror stories posted about that company. Limbs deaminating, strings flying off, never honoring warranty, factory repaired crossbows failing again on the first shot, cocking devices breaking mid draw, etc. I do not expect that company to stay in business for long. One option would be to look on ebay for a parts crossbow of the same model. If there are none on there now, there will be soon.

Dave, what model is your bow?

3 years back I bought a brand new KI Ripper 415 xbow off eBay. The bow is super fast & super accurate. I was getting ready for Oct deer season & suddenly a practice shot at 30 yds missed the target by 2 feet! A quick examination showed that one of the limbs had de-laminated lengthwise. I immediately tried to multi-call, text & email KI. No response, I figured my whole season was shot. Finally I contacted the KI rep via a PM on the Crossbow Nation website & he took care of the problem ASAP. He had a whole new front-end shipped to me. By the time I was up & shooting again I had lost the 1st week of deer season.

I learned 2 things if I ever get serious about xbow hunting:

1) Always have a spare bow.
2) Buy an Excalibur next time.
