We are looking to change from generic Purina large breed puppy food to something a little more tailored to what a hunting dog/active dog might need. My vet yesterday recommended Royal Canin Labrador retriever puppy food, because it’s specifically made for that breed (she buys the breed-specific Royal Canin food for her dog). It’s $109 per 30 lb bag, and I’m just wondering if there is something comparable that’s maybe not $100 a month. Whatcha got?

My dogs stay healthy on this. It doesn’t take much either.

I was feeding Purina Pro Plan Performance 30/20. The price for 37# bag 70$. Switched to Nutrena Loyall Chicken and Brown Rice. My dog still maintaining weight, coat shiny, stools are firm, endurance is optimum. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...RRqGtAuD7FYH5GVXBZ8iGpf9rBoCOOEQAvD_BwE. [Linked Image]

Eukanuba or Pro Plan - can't go wrong with either.

Pro Plan is a few bucks cheaper. We have fed both, but have fed strictly Eukanuba for about 8.5 years now (Labs are 9 & 10).

I feed the pro plan sport 30/20 as well. But have been looking to switch with the price increases. But none of the good foods are cheap. Have been looking at inshunka sp?

Victor Plus 30/20 (teal bag, found at TSC or Atwoods), been feeding it for over 15 years, switched from Pro Plan. Priced somewhat reasonable and great results.

My Lab has done really well on it over the past few years. Pretty good pricing at $40 for a 50lb bag.
