Trying to get better at saving left overs and also want to do some meal prep so I stop eating out so much. How long will game meat or steaks etc last in the freezer if they have been vacuum sealed. Also if you freeze soups or etc how long would they be good in the freezer in tubs?

I have found with all our meat, if it is wrapped in Saran Wrap and then freezer paper only, it will easily last for a year or more. Vacuum packed I would hazard a guess at least 2 years.
We make a lot of soups and marinara sauce, and fill the entire freezer door with the small tubs. Try to make them last a year, so we are ready for the next garden season. We do try to use up any of the soups and chowders that are cream based in 6-8 months

Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

We eat Elk about 95% of the time. Just killed one in Oct processor vacuum packs, and we will eat it though out the full year. The last package is as good as the first. I have eaten game meat that was properly packaged 3 years after it was shot and I couldn't tell that it wasn't killed a week before
