6 bucks, 5 doe, 1 fawn. 4yr old 8pt and 3yr old 10pt are the best 2 bucks.

No luck on the deer side for me, but 3 hogs and 2 coyotes over the last 3 hunts (yesterday am, pm, today am). At least some action.
In stand for one more hunt now…..and haven’t seen a thing move yet.

Fantastic last hunt, four 8pts, one 10pt, two smaller bucks and 8 slick heads. Had one of the culls I wanted gone, but just didn't feel like cleaning a deer tonight. He's got a spike on one side so I still have time to take him out.

I took a decent buck this morning with my 45/70 Marlin with a Hornady 300gr XTP handload. They were moving early

Passed on legal bucks for the past two months. It was time. My youngest son took his first buck two weeks ago. Great season.

It has been a terrible year. Deer hitting feeders during the night or early hours of morning. Got a 9 pointer 3.5-year-old Dec. 27th.

I stayed in yesterday and watched football. But I have a feeder 150 yards from my back porch. Had 4 doe, 2 fawn and a young 8pt. Got two 2yr old spikes I'm going after this afternoon.

Yesterday's cell-cam delivered me proof that the herd has learned to hack into my phone and follow my location via GPS. I suspected it all year, but yesterday cemented my belief.

Seriously though...the last three weeks have seen every deer on this property go nocturnal or, when they did appear in the very early or very late minutes of legal shooting, they would simply walk by the feeders, on camera or while I watched from the stands. Very heavy feeding from 2 and 5am....does and bucks, young and old. I'm giving the remainder of the season a pass unless a) I actually have nothing to fix at home or b) the cell-cam says they're back to daytime feeding.

Til next year.....pigs and trash-pandas.

We’re going to give it a break until the last weekend of youth season, maybe they’ll hit the feeders by then?

The sun set today but hasn’t set on my season yet.
I’ve still got another week, plus.
Hoping to kill two doe with crossbow in the morning. Need the experience with shot, placement, recovery with bow. I want more experience under my belt before shooting a big mature buck with bow.

The fact that deer are not coming to feeders seems to be a widespread situation. Does that mean we are feeding too much? Would it help to reduce the amount of protein and corn we are feeding?

They are coming to feeders and wheat for us bigtime. I think it is just a situation by situation deal. Our deer are hardly ever nocturnal either. I think if you feed protein free choice then you will have them coming at night which is more their normal pattern. Of course, acorns are free choice for them as well.
