Prolly saw 40!deer on the way to the stand this evening.

Yea, they are moving early. Had 3 behind my house before I headed to the stand. One waiting on me when I got here. But nothing since. Road corn is out, both feeders just went off so hopefully something here shortly.

Time will tell, I could conceivably see him chasing 140" as an 8pt, next year or next. Stompy, would he be sold as a trophy buck hunt as a 140", 8pt.? What about 130"?

Saw deer breaking ice in troughs this afternoon. Several does and fawns on oats about 3:30 already. I big mature buck was on road corn about same time. In blind just before 4 and no deer yet. Feeders just went off though. Beautiful upper 30s afternoon with very light winds.

Well, I haven't told many folks about my plans, but my ranch is already 2/3rds HF. Going to finish the other 3rd in February-March. He won't be touched till he's at least a 6yr old. Not sure what I'll do with him.

Ranches are being sold and broken up into small ranchetts to the north and south of me. If I don't HF, I'll never see another mature buck.

That’s a sad reality, I wish it wasn’t so.

I never wanted a HF ranch, but I mostly don't want to spend the rest of my days only looking at 15" 8pts.

The little ranches to the north would be an issue but I could probably deal with it. The one to my south borders my low fence side and they could devastate me.

Grey fox at feeder and two big bucks about 3/4 miles away on a hill top. Acting like they want to fight.

I should have sat in my wheat field this afternoon. Pretty slow here, just 4 deer and a limit of doves.
