The right barrel fires first, and the inertia of the recoil cocks the firing pin for the left barrel
Not exactly. Firing pins don’t [censored] on a conventional break action double(not striker fired), the hammers do. Gaping the barrels acts to [censored] the hammers. The inertial trigger arrangement has a bob-weight that slips off the first sear under recoil, and engages the second sear afterwards allowing the gun to fire.

I know if you have to ask you probably can’t afford it, but how many digits are we talking to get a double? IIRC the 8 x 57R with scope was +/- $5K. The 30-06 with double triggers, adjustable barrels and scope I have about $5,300 invested. I got this Connecticut Shotgun RBL Professional 20 gauge S x S Sabot Double rifle pictured above for +/- $4K with scope.... My passion is perforating porkers. At 100 yds or less, a sub-MOA firearm is not a requirement. Ya! GWB

Perhaps my nomenclature is suspect. I will bow to your expertise. Anywho, from my experience with this rifle, the right barrel fires first, always. As mentioned I prefer the double trigger set up of my two other doubles. Best, GWB

Never been a fan of a single trigger on a double rifle…just wrong and defeats one of the intended purposes of a double rifle. Single trigger on a shotgun…sure.

I have found that education is costly and that on most endeavors there is a learning curve. The 8 x 57R was my first double rifle. I do not recall exactly but in my ignorance and lack or questioning the seller I expected the single trigger to be selective. Of the three, if I were to choose to let one follow someone else home, the 8 x 57R Double, with the single trigger would be first to do so. ya! GWB

Brandon Sklenar playing the role of Spencer Dutton in Taylor Sheridan's new TV series "1923". Having witnessed the horrors of the First World War, he is experiencing post-traumatic stress. Viewers saw him hunting lions and leopards, protecting a British group who were camping in the area. He appears to spend most of his life traveling, never settling down anywhere for reasons yet to be discovered.
