I don’t have to kill a Mulie to have fun hunting them, I have a spotting scope and camera. Just saw when!

You need to rig up one of these, add some length and reinforce the piece that goes into receiver and cut 1' off mast. [Linked Image]

You probably will be fine. Just keep up with the routine maintenance on them and you will be golden.

On the Polaris I know if your going to be running at low speeds ( 12mph or less) they recommend to run in low range. I have a buddy who has a 2008 polaris 800 crew that is abused in just about every sense of the word and I don’t think it’s ever seen high range at any speed unless I’m driving it and it just keeps on ticking with no issues. He’s changed the fluids and spark plugs and CV axles and that’s about it

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone say the Honda was loud. Mine is def quieter than my Ranger. Mine is a 700 and two best friends have 1000's, and I feel like the Honda's are quieter. I haven't ridden in a new Mule or Can Am.

When you want to look fast but go slow, buy the Talon. When you want to go fast, buy the Polaris.

My belt hasn’t broke yet and I beat mine every chance I get. How many miles does that Honda have on a failed sub trans?

If you are going to make an accusation like that at least tell the rest of the story Sir since you know it. I do not hate your Turbo S but it wasn't for us and I think sound wise they are close. It is not an issue.

I haven’t ran a Polaris 1000 past about 20 mph in some time but if you romp on a Honda 1000 it gets a tad loud. That and it’s hard to get used to gear shifts after riding in CVT equipped rigs.

I have no doubt they are extremely well built though.

Lol, there is not but I did find humor in the idea of you and BP racing to the stand @ 75mph, 200 decimals and 20” suspension travel and an 8’ rooster tail of dirt

Not sure if the design has changed but there was a time when a Kubota UTV would throw you through the windshield once you took your foot off the gas due to an auto-brake feature. Yes, the feature could be defeated with an aftermarket add-on. Still, it's not something you'll be forced to deal with on other UTV's.

He has boost and I do not even own the machine. That is the twins toy and I just get to play with it. I will go anywhere big boody Judy goes with 2 3.5yo in the back in their harnesses. BP machine is nice but I do not need to go fast. BP talking [censored] about that trans in my machine the dealer flipped is classy.

BP as he is CVC. I think mine needs to be run with the paddles. Dan the trash can man could not buy a clue if we loaned him money.

That flip shouldn’t have killed your trans. We can go anywhere slow. We will be going to Arizona in May, Tay along and let’s drip tater chip.

So after 5 days of mule deer hunting and quite a few miles, my '06 Ranger 500 pictured above several posts ago, developed a whine coming from the rear somewhere. Engine sounds normal at idle and when reving up motor, but the faster you go, the louder the whine in any gear. Any clues where to start? It still has the original belt, wondering if that's it?

Dang, 16 years on original belt!

that would be the first thing I would look at - those units are known for belts slipping

Yelp, good news is Polaris was smart in making it DIY friendly

I'm a fan of teaching myself how to do things on my own schedule at a time of my choosing. It was relatively easy the first time I changed my belt. I did it in my garage under ideal circumstances. I wouldn't have wanted the first time I did that to be on the trail. I put the original belt in my trail box, it was fine.

I only have two complaints about mule pro. Air filter location and belt change ease.
