My mother was a extremly healthy woman in March she got interstital lung disease of which 95% of her lungs were scared. To answer your question - Mom made all the decisions about her care which was the best scenario. There is Hospice Care for patients that have less than 6 months left and I cant recommend this high enough. They will manage pain, medicine and care for the remainder of the patients life.
