It would take some of the fun/challenge out of it. I will probably not get a buck this year due to not seeing a buck that I really want to shoot, but I have not lost interest in hunting though because I have been hunting hogs and I want to shoot a big one. We have several over 200 on camera and I know that if I go often enough, I have a good chance. Size matters on everything.

I would still hunt deer but not with the same passion. The reason we manage our environment and our herd as intensively as we do is to hopefully allow the deer to produce the best set of antlers they can. If that variable gets taken away and I know no matter what I do that every Buck is going to be the same identical deer, then the work isn’t worth the payoff

Real-estate business must be slow today. it is until it isnt. We could always talk about financial advice or Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge.....
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Nein. Both on the hunting and Ford vs. Chevy vs. the sphincters.

Me and my buddies who hunt all do it for the meat. If I had the means, I would certainly chase trophies. But for me, just getting out there is hard enough. Does and spikes taste pretty good, as do baby hogs.

People still duck hunt, dove hunt, quail hunt, etc.
For the most part almost every bird is the same.
We try to shoot mature bucks and culls, bet we enjoy the organic groceries. The horns are a bonus.

If all deer had approx. the same size antlers and configuration…would you still hunt them, or be as passionate about hunting them?
Yes or no? You ponder some "interesting" things.

Yes of course I would. You would always know how much meat it would yield. It would take a record book buck for me to do another mount for anything I might shoot. The wife get a good one she has a place picked out on the wall for it.

Yes, taking my boys hunting and being in nature is way more important than a set of horns. It kinda upsets me the number of people I know who hunt and don't eat the meat. Yes, I like horns, I have many hanging on my wall. But showing my boys how to butcher their own deer and preparing the meat to eat is the whole reason for hunting. Venison is highly underrated and you can't grill something like this from the store like I do.

Yes. I enjoy hunting, be out in nature and everything that comes along with that. I eat every deer I shoot so it does not matter to me what their head gear looks like. If I was told I could only hunt does-that would be fine with me. Not interested in antlers.. Can't eat them. I do not live to impress anyone else so killing a big antlered deer to me means nothing.
A hog is nothing more than a bullet receptacle.

I have known a BUNCH of trophy hunters that don't eat venison. All they want is the horns, they give all of the meat away.

Even if they were, people focus on small differences, make mountains out of mole hills. Me, I wonder at people who spend huge money on trophy whitetails when elk and moose exist.

Axis bucks rarely have more than a 3x3 rack and people will shoot them all day long.
