My nephew is graduating San Angelo State on Saturday. I am wanting to take him to lunch afterwards but not sure where. The place I used to love is no longer there. What recommendations do you have that is not a chain restaurant?

Is Mejor que Nada or Mas que Nada still there? Would be my first choice, used to be very good Mexican food.

Mejor Que Nada and Twin Mountain are closed.
Mexican: Armenta's Henrys El Paisano Jalapenos Loco
Italian: Luigi's Napoli's
Other: Cork and Pig Urban Salt Angry Cactus The Grill
My choice: A good all-around is Western Sky. Good mexican, steak, American.

I liked Ms Hatties.....wasn't bad. Plus it used to be an old whore house.
Cool decor.

My nephew did not live there. He would drive to school every day from our ranch in Coleman so he did not really know good places to eat other than fast food. We ended up going to El Paisano and it was great. My old favorite place was Mejor que Nada but they are no longer open.
