Besides seeing mainly younger bucks so far this season, I got lucky and patterned this guy. Shot him nowhere near a feeder. Blessed to be hunting a property close to home where I can spend lots of time in the outdoors.

I shot him at a spot that I had no pics of him day or night. I knew he was in the area and got lucky to see him passing through a couple of times. I took the day off work on a cool cloudy day and lucky for me he was a creature of habit. He came by around 9 am and I got help from a doe that he was checking out once he came into view. Sometimes things just work out. It was a great day!

We hunt Bee County also. We started hunting last Friday and I am happy we got there Friday. Had some nice bucks show up that night. My son ended up putting down a 12 pointer

Heck of a deal! Nice deer. I've seen a lot of really nice deer taken from Bee, Refugio, & Goliad Counties. Used to live in Beeville, my old stomping grounds.
No doubt, there are some really nice deer in all of those areas.
Yes Sir there are. Was just going through a box of my Dad's old deer horns from Bee County and kept saying "damn" to myself lol. Good stuff Sir. Keep it up.

Great buck, I was raised on my parants ranch outside of Beeville in the 50's. I never saw any deer or hogs on the ranch. My parents leased land for hunting all over S.Texas in the 50's & 60's. In the early 90's I began to see deer, hogs and turkeys on the ranch and my kids and grandson now hunt there.

Bee County can get it done. With careful, disciplined management bucks can be allowed to get quite big. Some noted wildlife photographer used to have the run of a certain family family ranch bordering 202 and included many of its bucks in some quite glossy wildlife studies - Mike something or other.
This one came from a low fence pasture bordering the Medio Creek and it didn't "escape" from nowhere.
