Wifey person and I picked up our TX 2009-2010 licenses at Walmart in Bonham this morning. When I asked for the Fed duck stamp the gal said ... "oh we don't give them out any longer, you pay for it here now and then they get mailed to you". I told her to forget it and I'd get mine elsewhere. She got a little pi$$y with me and said "Good luck, whoever you buy it from will have to mail it to you also".AS soon as I got back home in Ivanhoe I called the post office nearby and they told me they hadn't carried duck stamps for several years because they never sold any. I then called the nearby Ravenna post office and got the same response. Then called the latger Bonham post office figuring surely they would carry the stamp .... nope, they too have stopped carrying due to lack of sales. So I found this on an on-line search ... http://www.fws.gov/duckstamps/DSOfactsheet0509.pdfBass Pro and Cabela's supposedly are carrying the Fed Stamps but I haven't actually checked. Just ordered our's on-line. Suggest you NOT wait until the last minute and discover that you won't have a duck stamp available for Teal season.

got my license yesterday at BPS, paid for the Fed duck stamp, was told they would mail it, but it shows on my license that I paid for it. Also says it expires in 45 day, so lets hope they ship soon

I had not seen anything about this until I bought mine last week. This is going to screw some people if they wait until the last minute before a hunt. I wonder if you could take your receipt with you on a hunt if you have not received the stamp in the mail.

Thanks for the "heads up" guys. Otherwise, I would of had that confused puppy look at the check out station and then bolted to the next store.

I wonder if you could take your receipt with you on a hunt if you have not received the stamp in the mail. If it says it has been paid for on your license like mentioned above then how will it screw people?

I had the same thing happen when I picked up my license. The license indicates that you purchased the duck stamp and this is supposed to be good for 45 days. I received mine in the mail within the week.

Update ... I ordered ours through USPS.com. $15 each, $30 for the pair plus a $1 total handling charge. Also sent me an on-line receipt and a statement indicating our stamps would be shipped in one business day. Guess this is the way for collectors to get their stamps since Miss Pi$$y told me that "You cannot buy a duck stamp without buying a license". Now that I think about it, seems to me she's the same gal who sold me our's last year and told me that I HAD to sign the stamp and attach to our licenses there in the store in front of her. Don't you just love intellectual combat with unarmed people?

The new electronic Federal Duck Stamp program allows the fish and wildlife agencies of Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Texas, and Wisconsin, to sell stamps electronically through their individual automated licensing systems, providing a special receipt as proof of purchase. This proof of purchase a unique code given to the purchaser instantly will be accepted as evidence of a Federal Duck Stamp purchase for 45 days time enough for the printed stamp to arrive in the mail.

exactly. perfectly legit. it's indicated on the license just like other endorsements. it was done to prevent the "scramble" to find them based on input from hunters.

Yep, no need to panic, there is tag with your licenses that shows you paid for it, and it serves as temporary stamp good for 45 days. Cappy is just an old timer, he cant deal with the electronic age . They should just go completely electronic, if you pay for it, why not just say it's good for the whole season, why limit it to just 45 days? That should be all you should have to show the GW, that you paid for it, not sure why you need to show a GW the actual stamp.

Damn it! Was just at the Parks and Wildlife office and said no to the stamp because last year I got the actual stamp someone else and saved the $2.
This is some real bs. Just have the GD stamp.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

The gov't printing ofc needed an extra 45 days because they've been busy printing an extra trillion dollars they don't have.

Well besides the "electronic age" some states may not accept a Texas license tag, Please take note KANSAS is not on the list of states doing to Electronic duck stamp, they told me to go to a Post Office and buy it, place it on the back of a KS license and sign it. Only way they will accept it.......................... Anyway our little 1/2 window Post Office in Zavalla Tx has over a 100 on hand right now
Team Hillbilly I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left. Paralyzed Veterans of America

Cappy is just an old timer, he can’t deal with the electronic age . If that was true, how was he able to order the stamps on-line? Or for that matter, resize and post pics here when a lot of you youngsters can't even spell-check your own posts? BTW ... there ARE folks like me who collect the actual stamps and don't care to have them printed on a license.

. . . . They should just go completely electronic, if you pay for it, why not just say it's good for the whole season, why limit it to just 45 days? That should be all you should have to show the GW, that you paid for it, not sure why you need to show a GW the actual stamp. Because the 'state' issues the hunting license, but the 'FEDS' issue the duck stamp . . . . Brings up an interesting question- say you buy a Texas hunting license AND duck stamp - then later travel to 'Kansas' to hunt with some relatives that live there- and you buy a Kansas non-resident hunting license - Do you still have to buy the Federal Duck Stamp for your kansas license, even though you already bought one in Texas?
