Any chance I could get one of those NULA rifles with the black friday sale? We're doing a lot of product improvements on the rifle, don't expect to see any until mid 2023

Fair enough. I'll keep playing with my Ruger American conversion until then. Thanks!

ALCON
"Items: The following items are in stock and will be shipped in your order 0000330303 30 Caliber .308 Diameter 150 Grain SST (300 Savage) 100 Count"
It would appear that Hornady has delivered a run of #30303 to distributors. One of my 2 backorders has shipped.
After shooting a couple hundred hogs this year with 110vmax and CC I can't see a need to immediately play with these. Outside of an Africa trip or bear hunt I don't see a lot of use of them for me but for those guys looking for them just be on the lookout.

Less than 5 in stock.
I canceled my graf order and Midsouth sold-out in a couple hours after I got the email confirmation on my backorder shipping.
Places like midway weren't accepting backorders so those places should hopefully be posting their received inventory in the next couple days.
I think WC said he had something like 20K+ on order as well but I'd expect they'd need the bulk of those for ammo production.

I talked with my OEM component contact yesterday and they are running 30303 bullets now, so expect more in the pipeline. We have 210k on order that we're supposed to get in a couple of weeks, but these are bulk OEM so we are not allowed to sell them as components. So we should be filling ammo backorders soon.

Today I spent some time at range shooting at 100yds with my 300 HAM'R using the Recon 16" 1-13 barrel these are the 135 gr FTX loads. This was a 4 shot group I think the high right one was me. Just curious what other bullets shoot well as these are all I have tried so far?

Splicer, Not a bad group even counting #4 These have proven to be the most accurate bullets overall in my barrels: 110gr Hornady V-MAX 125gr Sierra SPT PH 125gr Speer TNT 135gr Hornady FTX 135gr Sierra HP-V That said, most of the reasonably suitable bullets will shoot 1.5" in most barrels, which is plenty good for deer/hog hunting.

The wife and I shoot the Speer 130 Hot Core. LOVE it. Entrance & exit holes with the longest trailing job, since Oct 1st, today of about 30 yds.

either way Thank you for starting the best thread on the internet anyway and welcome aboard. This is the only online discussion I've followed and taken part in regularly in at least 2 years. PS 110grain is the only HAM'R projectiles needed for pig and white tail killin

Has anyone tried the 125gr cavity back bullets in the 300 hamr yet just curious if they would work. Overall length is 1.066 I believe.

The most accurate bullet I've found so far for my Ham'r is the Speer 2022 150gr. It will shoot 5 shot groups at 50 yds that you can cover with a dime and at 100 yds if they are not all touching it's on me. The way I have it sighted in anything between 30 and 170 yds will be within an inch of point of aim. Now having said that others on this group have said these bullets lacked the terminal performance of some of the other options. Maybe I've just been lucky but so far everything I've shot was pretty much an instant blast of death...although one pig I shot on the run did manage a couple steps because of bad shot placement.

My results match this. Very very accurate and very hard on pigs. I've only shot 2 pigs with this bullet so far (18" barrel with factory ammo) but both were drt with a great deal of blood leaking out of the dead hogs. I did not get an exit hole with either hog. Both were facing me when they got their brains scrambled so the bullets came to rest somewhere deep in the hogs. I have shot a lot of hogs with the 135gr FTX out of a couple 300 BLK and the bullet has been exceptional at putting down hogs. Not so much with the 125gr SST.

I picked up a new 223 Ruger American Rifle and the 300 HAM’R replacement barrel. Just need to find a gunsmith in the Austin area to do the install. Can’t wait to get it up and running!

I asked about these a couple dozen pages back and didn't hear anything so I picked up a box of both the 308 and 300blk variant of the 125 cavity back. You can load them and they will shoot, but they protrude into the powder column more than I would like for a bullet so light. The cavity in the back of the bullet does allow a bit more powder before it really compresses the column, but can be finicky to seat that way. Performance on these is not as good as I would like either. The petals pull back 180 degrees so they are sitting on or near the side of the projectile rather than remaining extended outward. I would recommend going with a maker rex over the cavity back.

You are going to be a happy camper. Sure, the Ruger American Rifle may not be as refined as some more expensive rifles, but it does the job! We have thrown together three of them at my place and all are sub-MOA weapons. I got a nice eight with mine last deer season and plan to add more to the count in a few weeks. Short, handy, lightweight, reliable, and deadly accurate, if you want a bolt action HAM'R this is the way to go.

One for the wife and one for me, like said they are both 1 inch at 100 yds. Wife carries her to the blind every trip we make. Daniel
