Not very many young people here. Rural young people are almost non-existent. Do you blame them? Who would want to grow up in the country with nothing do? You move out to the country to die, not to live. This is a hunting forum isn't it? People hunt and fish in rural areas, if you actually hunted you might know that. I don’t see everyone heading to DFW on opening weekend, they are all out here. I guess they all drive out here to do nothing a hunting forum ? Hunting- what once was price of a Gov. food stamps, has become a Richmans sport. pappy Texas Hunting Forum. Can't you read?

Thought I would bump this up since it shows what ages dominate the THF OT. It’s relevant to recent discussions.

46. Father of 4, Grandfather of 2.
You got 2 years on me, but every time I see someone I could have gone to high school with say they are a grandparent, it blows me away. My oldest is 11 and his little brothers are 4 and 2. I cannot imagine being a grandpa - WE AREN'T THAT OLD! NO WAY! NO HOW!

It is hard for me to imagine myself a millennial.....There couldn't be MORE of a difference between someone like me being born in 1981 versus someone born in 1995-96. Hell, when I graduated HS people were just now beginning to have internet in their homes and not everyone had a cell phone. I guess a line has to be drawn somewhere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xennials

You move out to the country to die, not to live. Wrong I live in the country to live the life I want to, it's a choice and one I don't regret. I don't have to deal with neighbors bad choices their barking dog, poor or nonexistent landscape decisions and the list goes on. Don't get me wrong town has thing everyone need to live and nice places to eat at, but the daily hustle isn't for me. Country living for me is busy I could put in 10 hour days everyday if I wanted to, tractor work, looking after deer feeders, minerals, stands, etc. I can hunt, fish, shot, enjoy wildlife, go for a ride on the SXS or just sit on the patio and listen to nothing everyday. Between the front and backyard the other morning there were 17 deer and turkeys at the treeline not the same view in city life. I hope you make it to the country some day. I can see deer, rabbits, bobcats, some coyotes and mallards/geese almost daily in Frisco. Why would I need to drive somewhere? Hell I keep corn out at the pond where I live, always wild life there, mostly ducks. I lived in Frisco before all the morons from Irving moved there. Coit was a gravel road with lots of good dove fields. Only a city person would be content with what has become of Frisco. But enjoy that mall.

Although my brother and I were born in the same decade, obviously, I think generations should go by decade, not some arbitrary range. Never made sense to me that they’re randomly started in whatever year and just end abruptly in whatever year 12-18 years later.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

Born in 1947. I predate TV, window air conditioners, used a slide rule at engineering college. Saw my first calculator at my first job as an engineer, and it even did square roots. Saw my first computer in about 1981. My secretary had previously worked for Exxon, and they had “word processors”, whatever that was. And she, being a good looking blond, suggested that it would be good if our department had one, and I said yes. I didn’t even talk to the boss, my mind being otherwise engaged. So, the WP got delivered and in use by the lovely Donna, and every other secretary in the company got pissed that they didn’t have one. That brought in the VP who asked why I agreed to this thing. He wanted it gone, but his secretary wanted it moved to her desk. And you know who won that battle, so they stole ‘our’ WP, and Donna had to order another one. That got us our first toehold in the electronic age. Not long after that, at Texaco, I got a real honest to goodness desktop computer. We were instructed to play games on it to learn how to use a mouse.
Most of the rest of you guys most likely missed all that fun and just took all that for granted, like we do today. I showed the oldest grandson how to use my sliderule. He was fascinated and can now multiply and divide. That’s about all I can do with it now. Can’t do natural logarithms or base 10 logarithms any more.
Can anyone among you still do Natural Logs or Base 10 Logs on a slide rule? I bet not. But, if you can, I am much impressed.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

I learned how to use a slide rule for my engineering merit badge. I promptly forgot it all.
I remember the kid in high school that wore the Texas Instruments scientific calculator in a case on his belt. Talk about chick repellant. (Trombone player - no big surprise.)

early in my career, circa late 1970s, I worked with a EE from from India, borderline genius & idiot, but his slide rule capabilities were fascinating. I tried learning from him but only made minor progress and reverted back to the computer.

Millennials should not feel self conscious or embarrassed to be in that category. There's no need to try to explain that even though you're a millennial, somehow you're not one. I believe stereotypes and misconceptions bring about any negative perceptions. Nothing wrong with being a millennial any more than some other generation.

1962 for me.
Think about the changes a man that was born in 1860, died 1950 lived through. At the age of 10, could he even fathom a military jet fighter? I can't think of a time that a man's life would have seen more change. For most of us to see that kind of change, it may be in reverse. I think boomers would be the best suited to deal with it.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
