I stocked up on ammo when it was cheap . The most interesting thing about the round is that it already existed about 20 years ago . The 30 AR is an exact copy of a 7.5mm Swiss military prototype cartridge , which was a short 7.5mm . I have made cases from the parent cartridge , the 7.5x55 mm Swiss .

Very interesting. I wish I had known (at least I think I wish I had known!) about that option before I jumped into the 6mm AR.

Was that cartridge conversion as much trouble as it appears to be?

That 7.5x.55 is not one you hear of often at all. I guess there are enough surplus rifles floating around out there to sustain a brass supply.

What bullet has become your favorite for the .30 AR, if any?

I knew you could make it from the Swiss, but did not know they developed a short round also. I too would like to hear more about the conversion and how the brass holds up. I don't and won't need any, probably ever unless I start shooting it all the time but I kind of like tinkering with stuff like that.

As for bullets I mainly shoot 110 vmax because I bought a ton of them cheap and they shoot very well, and I've shot deer with the 110 ttsx and an antelope with the 125 sst, which is the same as Rem's accutip in this round. I'm going to try some 125 accubonds because I have a box of them and some 125 bt's.
