I really try to give companies the benefit of doubt since they are short staffed most of the time. Today was the exception. There was 30 people working at Boot Barn. I inquired about a new hat since I had a little folding money. They had a nice 20x Silverbelly and a real nice 30x Silverbelly. I was told the hat bar is closed today, nobody is working it.

30 people standing around, 2 were checking people out. I don’t feel sorry if companies like that have to close their doors during the depression. Piss poor management and leadership.

On another note, Anderson Bean has only started selling certain styles at certain stores. The boot I was looking for is only sold in San Antonio 🙄

I took a client to lunch today who prefers to dine at strip clubs. I can assure you customer service is not dead, at least when people skills pays the bills. Dancers aside, it was the best waitress I've had in two years.

How do I become a client?

I am seeing it also.

Fast food and retail has excess staffing. Easy jobs that require no skills and no attention span are staffed to the gills.

Just own and/or manage a medium to large financial institution and I would be happy to take you to lunch anywhere you like.

You are right customer service sucks. As for Anderson Bean, they are great boots! I bought a pair up in Sherman a few months back and really like them. Got a free AB hat to go with them.

Oh I know they suck, but I was in the area and it was convenient. I’ll just drive to Decatur soon and get a custom hat.

I like AB, they aren’t what they used to be, but they aren’t bad. Too bad they are damn hard to find, and nearly impossible in a EE.

Whataburger in Winnie is terrible. Six people with nothing to do after you place your order, and they have your money. They all watch as one challenged person tries to assemble a sausage biscuit.
After 20 minutes they tell me to be patient. Nope, not happening.

Same issue at B of A for lunch. Had to make a cash withdrawal since their stupid ATM's have suck low limits. Stood in line 40 mins behind a dozen of the unwashed masses for the single teller and watched 6 "personal bankers" stand around with their hands in their pockets hoping a commission paying customer would walk through the door. You know every damn one of them had teller experience and know how, but not a one of them was going to open another window.

I've been talking to different banks for our business and was amazed at how little interaction there was. Here's the rate/fee sheet have a nice day., never even asked my name or what my business was.

I don’t know about Boot Barn, but fast food customer service is usually pretty poor. And, it’s likely to get worse. Higher minimum wages will continue to cause fast food places (and Walmart) to reduce staff and install electronic ordering equipment and more self checkout. Pretty soon you won’t even have a human to fuss at.

Of the fast food places I visit, Whataburger seems best. Popeyes is so bad I’ll give it last place and next to last place. I don’t know about Taco Bell, not having been in one this century. Dairy Queen is just for ice cream. Burger King is off and on. McDonald’s is partly electronic, and I hate that. Wendy’s isn’t worth the gas to get there.

Whataburger in Pearland on Hwy 35 sucks azz also, the oversized Hispanic lady in the drive through will have that dude backed up 10 deep cause she’s busy f-ing with her mask and trying to fit in between the fry machine and drink machine to not knock all the cups off the rack. But she’s nice. Done with that Whataburger for sure.

Telephone CS is a crap shoot at best also. Within the last week I've received both the worst and the best service...on the same matter!

Stopped at Chicken Express in Sherman Wednesday for a quick lunch ordered the 2 piece Chicken tender meal it was $7.45. Asked the kid for my drink cup he said the 2 piece Chicken tender meal does not come with a drink? He said a drink was $2.00, I said I'm not paying almost $10.00 for 2 Chicken tenders a side and a drink. I got my money back and we parted ways.
That's just crazy.

I do not think quality is down. Finding them is a bitch though you are right. They are running the lower brand due to skins that cant be AB boots.

Yea, that's nuts. FWIW - Chicken Express does give a veterans/first responder discount.

I had my back MRI results read to me over the phone by a girl in my PCP's office. Never mind that she has no medical training, she could barely read. (I had the results sent to a neurosurgeon as well. They're supposed to call Monday.)

The education level of the girls, and that's what they are - girls, actually running the healthcare system in this country is terrifying.

I actually had to stop at 3 different whataburgers in one morning before work this week before I could get food I could eat. The first one was so slow, I watched 3 vehicles leave the drive through before I decided to go as well. Everything is insanity nowadays.

Seen a good many pre-C19 going online at the public library printing various certifications.
That, and paper dealer tags for their tote-the-note lot Escalades

I've had similar dealings with doctor's office helpers.
One told me after my office visit and tests that my kidneys were no longer functioning.
The actual doctor called me back later and explained I actually had diminished
function, and the level was fairly normal for someone of my age.
Been told I was diabetic, nope.
Been told I had C19, nope.
Just completed my 5th test for that. None

It's much the same at any service business anymore.
It'll never change until we get back to merit based
hiring for every business. Makes me really frustrated
and sad to see cashiers and bank tellers that can't
count money, and medical people that are paid to
draw blood and can't do it in 4 or 5 tries.
Many other examples to list

We are an over served society.
Fast food places. Discount stores. Bank on every corner.

Either don’t patronize or don’t complain. Like always the market dictates.
