Yep, got a pallet at bucees fort worth and it was 12/bag. What is happening to cause a bag of corn to be $12?

Brown's in Lampasas is $10.50/bag, just spoke with them. Caution here, I bought two pallets sight un-seen from Brown's Friday afternoon. The sacks are really floppy, like beanbags, and I thought the corn wasn't all that clean. Sacks also require a knife to open. Probably won't buy again. yep, but once you figure out which string to cut, it will unzip really easy. As a side note, if you save your bags, you can return them to Brown for 10 cents each. They fill their own and re-use those white bags. Another note, those white bags don't bust open when loading/unloading like the paper bags do. I picked up 20 bags there last week for my Ozona place, $10.50 for 50 lb. also picked up 400 lbs at Cap's in Fairfield, $10.95 for 50 lb (paper bags)

I agree they won't break. I saw a fair amount of bug bodies and cob in the corn, though; at least more than I thought I should.

Took a gamble on a lease this year because the price was too enticing. It hasn't panned out. To add insult to injury, I think I've spent more on corn than on the lease fee. I'm letting the feeders throw the rest of the corn and I'm not refilling again. Too much money to feed pigs.

Its been awhile since anyone posted on corn prices. I assume they are about the same. I need to buy another 3 pallets next week. Anyone know if NTx Bucees prices the same as have been?

Bucees in Rockwall was still about 10.99 when I went thru a week ago... I didn’t realize there was a Bucees in Rockwall. That price is a dollar cheaper than the others in North Tx. Anyone got update on price there, Terrell, Denton or FtW? I need 3 pallets today. My regular supplier has been beating Bucees but they went up $2 a bag.

As of today.., Bucees Royse City 10.99. Bucees Terrell 12.48. Bucees Denton 12.48. Wolfe City Grain 12.50. Wolfe City often supplies Bucees so I’m guessing they are days away from going over 12.50 at Bucees. No idea why Royse City is cheaper. Big thank you to Bronco71 for letting me know there was a Bucees in Royse City and that they are 1.50 less than other area Bucees. Saved us $180. Love this forum.

crazy. distribution expenses most be crazy high. 6.75 per 56lbs on futures With the TX drought last year, most all corn is coming in rail. Current corn basis delvd a central TX bagging facility is around +2.20 nearby corn futures of 6.73, or 8.93 per bu, or $7.97 per 50 lbs. Call bags $1, so their gross margin is around $4.00 per bag. They also lose some wt as they screen the corn. I bet they net $2.00 per bag. Not bad money but no one's gettin rich.
