Got my oldest son married off last night, spent a fortune, had 350 + guests and had a hella good time!

I didn't die, so there is that.

Got a decent price for a trailer load of calves. Paring down anyway because of the drought but a good sale day is a bonus.

My two beautiful granddaughters made the 9th grade volleyball A team - nothing better than seeing your kids and grandkids succeed -

Finished up a 14 day 4200 mile road trip through New Mexico, Arizona and California. The giant sequoia trees at sequoia national park are amazing. The grand canyon was immense and beautiful. We did disperse camping in national forest most nights, air mattress in back of the suv. Only had to pay for lodging 4 nights out of the 14. It was a great trip.

We took the Jeep to Ruidoso NM. for it's first trip and had a good time. Seen about 50 Elk and just as many Mule Deer. Jeep did better than I expected on the road. Went up on Friday and I cashed out Saturday night, got them for just over 2600 on the Black Jack tables. I'm sure they'll get it back!

I'm hoping for the same this week.

Agreed. My son ran his first half marathon Saturday. Very proud of him.

We have heavy iron water between 75’ and 200’ depending on where you are. Good drinking water is between 500’-750’

This well will be around 540’ based on other wells in this area.

our well draw is 60 feet... we hit water at 40ft.

Spent Saturday at our son's house swimming and enjoying the day with the grandkids. Glad they still enjoy spending time with the older folks.

Ha, I was so damn dehydrated by saturday evening that all did at the wedding was drink water.

Celebrated our 10th anniversary and took a trip to Nashville and finished it up fishing in Louisiana.

We finally got some rain at the farm this week, with more coming. Hopefully, this will get the hay field going again. We sold off calves and old cows yesterday and the sale prices are good right now.

I also found out that the USDAs FSA is offering a little help to offset the loss of forage due to this severe drought.

All in all, good stuff this week.

Traffic has improved around here during the day with more of the little monsters back in school.

And last night there was a very large, shooter buck, bedded 40 yards in front of my front door at my home...in suburbia.
