Yes. If you look at your Lowes online it should tell you if it's on clearance it just won't tell you if they have any. Just type in Lesco in the search. The fertilizer is a decent deal at $16.00 The Stonewall (Prodiamine) is the what to load up on. You will not find a deal anywhere close to that price.

Anything we should be putting down on the Bermuda right now?

I fertilize every 4 weeks. I put down a 1/2lb of Nitrogen using a 21-7-14 which is 2.5lbs of product per 1000sq feet. This is my weekend to fertilize. As far as the fertilizer you use. I would be using something that has some Potassium(last number on the bag) in it to help with stress and drought. Something that is either 1/2 or equal to the amount of the nitrogen. Anything like these. 21-7-14, 15-5-10, 20-5-10. The Lesco that is on clearance would be good one. It's Urea based Nitrogen which isn't my favorite but it's fine and at $16 a bag it's tough to beat.

My local Lowes was a bit more expensive, but they did give me my 10% military discount.

Was it on clearance but just not as good of a clearance price? Keep that Stonewall handy, we're about 30 days out for the first application.

Actually, it was the same clearance prices but to get the extra discount you had to buy 5 each and I only bought 5 total. Still a good deal.

Jimbo I'll touch base on this in a few weeks but if you're bored and want to write this down I'll breakdown the label and application amount.

Per label. Do not apply more than 220lbs of product per acre per year. 43,560 square feet in an acre. 220 รท 43.5 ='s 5.05lbs per 1000sq feet per Calander year. Prodiamine has a very long soil residual, so I like to do 2ea 6 month apps. August 15th and Feb 15th at a rate of 2.5lbs per 1000sq feet. Needs to be watered in well with a 1/2" of irrigation or time it before a good chance of rain. Prodiamine isn't the best for broadleaf protection. That's were Gallery pre emergent would come in. But it's so damn expensive and broadleaf's are easy to kill so I don't bother spending the money on it.

Going to use the best(cheapest) fertilizer I can find. Which is Walmart Texas Turf 15-5-10 for about $15 a bag.

Started it May 21st. This is what it looked like. I applied 1lb of actually Nitrogen per 1000sq feet via the TX Turf to get the Bermuda and St Aug as healthy as I could before applying herbicides.

Two weeks later June 3rd I applied herbicides. This is 3 days after application. You can see the Bluestem and Dallis turning purple.

This is yesterday June 13th, Pretty much looks like I hoped it would. Herbicides are really doing work. Going to need another application around July 1st for a clean up. I think a few weeks after that app I should have the weeds under control and will focus on pushing fert to get the bermuda or St Aug to fill in. Waiting for the weeds to die off good so I can see how much of each is there before I decide which turf type I will cater to.

74 days in. Almost completely weed free. Couple spots of Dallis I need to brush with Gly. Starting to see the bermuda run and fill in. Fertilized it last night with 3/4lb of Nitrogen using Lesco 20-5-10 that's on clearance at Lowes. Going to hit it with another 3/4 on Labor Day and early October.

Pretty good results considering extreme heat and drought conditions.

She has irrigation but she's been out of town a lot this summer so I haven't been able to check each zone and each head like I want to. Put some rain gauges out last night and getting down what I want, just need to add a extra day during the week. I should be able to get some good fill in the next 45-60 days. Going to hit it with some additional sprays of a 18-18-18.

Did you get your spurge sprayed with the MSM? I did mine last Friday and it's starting to crisp up pretty nicely today.

I sprayed some in my back yard 2 days ago. I wanted to see how the heat effected the bermuda in the back before spraying anymore. I also didn`t realize the Prodiamine had no effect on the spurge. Will be nice to stay on top of it next year when it starts popping up.

I haven`t given up completely because I have a well. I have cut back watering though since it is a shallow well and may have limits. I wish I had a dollar for every time I said "I hate summer" this year.

Yeah you gotta go with Gallery/Isoxaben in spring for spurge. But you're looking at a cost of $4 plus per 1000 to spray it. MSM is like .15 cents per 1000 to spray. I'll do an app of Speedzone in late FEb/March for any winter broadleaves/spring cleanup and MSM in July and I'm good to go.

On watering. I have a free bottle of Hydratain being delivered today to test out. I'll let you know what I think.

Finally got tired of my Chapin sprayer that I bought last year not performing like it did when it was new. Called Chapin and sent it back to them yesterday on their dime. It would not build enough pressure to shut off like it did when new, pumping 1 gallon in 4 minutes instead of 1 minute 50 seconds when new. Pump shutting off after pumping 1-2 gallons. Remove the battery and charge for 10 minutes and back to pumping with full charge (WTF). The pump would act like it was a 2-stage pump ever so often and spray more for a few seconds then change back all on its own. I took great care after each use and cleaned it out really good. I would have bought a different brand last year, but all most all brands were out of stock due to COVID supply chain issues. Not gonna be happy if they have some kind of BS excuse not to replace it. It lasted for about 25 tanks @ 4 gallons each = 100.

Looks to be at least a 3 week turn around, so I won`t be spraying my fall pre-emergent this year. I think I still have enough Barricade to use though.

bang

Dang that sucks. I went with Ryobi. 2-3 years now and it's been flawless so far. Probably will break tonight now I say that

Never heard of anyone actually wanting carpetgrass. It's not a grass that would do well in most of TX. Deep east TX it would probably be fine. But to me it looks like Dallis and Crab hooked up and had a baby. It's hot garbage.

See it used for lawns in Mississippi, one of the better choices I think in low wet areas. Our front yard was flat and wet a lot of the time and carpet out preformed bermudagrass in it but in the back yard with more drainage bermudagrass took over it. We did not worry about grass much in those days though just wanted the yard covered with something, if it was dry it would grow less and have to mow it less.

I have it and it's pretty solid, I'm about an hour off the coast. I irrigate it every couple of days, mow it once a week. I have a ton of oaks and it fills in nicely under them. I was wondering about fertilizer, I dumped 100# of triple 13 on a half acre in May just before the drought.
