One of the benefits of living in a high humidity, high rainfall area is the plant life which can flourish. I spent my first 50+ years living mostly in west Texas and while I loved it I struggled to keep a healthy yard and landscaping. This multiple colored hibiscus is an example of what I can grow here.

I transferred out here to finish off my career with Shell Oil Company’s deep water group as well as moving near my daughter and SIL. Now I’ve got two granddaughters and they are a blessing to see nearly daily. Sorry for the long post but I got a few private messages about “what the hell are you doing in Louisiana “ 😂 later folks 👍🏻

Sounds like you are happy and that is all that matters - took my two 14 year old grandaughters to a UT Girls volleyball game last night - what a great time we had! They are both playing volleyball and love it - GD on the right is around 6 foot as a Freshman. They are both respectful and good kids. (I gave them the grandfather speech "when school starts all of the upper class boys will be hitting on you - DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY" -

My neighbor has a 20 or so acre lake on his property about 5 minutes from our homes. I drive by from time to time to wet a line and just listen to the day wake up. I had company this morning but I didn’t bring my pistol so he got a pass.
