I run passenger car tires on my little 10' utility trailer because they are the only thing that fits. I have never had a problem but it is a light trailer and the most weight it ever sees is a Polaris ATV. I do not recall the brand that were on my boat trailer when I bought it but they started blowing at about 6 years old. Tires looked fine and had good tread. After I blew the third one I replaced all with Goodyear Endurance and never have had a problem. Trailer tires often do a lot of sitting and I believe that cause sidewall problems. I suspect that a lot of people don't air them up properly. I keep 60 to 65 lbs in my boat trailer tires and check them often.

I have always had all of my trailer tires balanced. When I think of the value of boats, side-by-side ATVs, etc. they are too expensive to not have the tires balanced. I've been behind very expensive boats on the highway and have seen very noticeable imbalance. That has to be shaking things loose.

Just picked up my dual-axle utility trailer from having the tires balanced again. 'Hope it helps, but the owner of the place said that none of the wheels were spot-on true and that he sees that a lot with trailer wheels nowadays with the cheap steel they're using to build them. It had developed a real vibration that was especially bad with the CanAm on it. We'll see. I'm sure I'll be buying wheels soon.

It’s had a few sets of tires, all balanced but still vibrating til weight put on trailer. I think it’s the lug bolts not centered on the hubs. The tires all get weird wear patterns.

I put a new set of Goodyear Endurance tires on my boat trailer last week. Great tires and made in the USA. Took the Chinese POS tires off that came on the trailer from the factory. Put your $ where your mouth is and buy American.
