The charity I support, New Hope Equine Assisted Therapy has been blessed by the donation of a yearly trophy mule deer hunt on the BAR73 Ranch in the Texas Panhandle. This ranch no longer sells hunts, and the only trophy hunt available each year going forward will be available at auction during our charity gala on October. Winning bidder can book the hunt for the 2022 or 2023 hunting season. One non-hunting guest can accompany the hunter. If you know anything about the BAR73 up in the panhandle, you'll know that this is a great hunt with potential for a very nice muley. There are dozens of my past clients on this site that will act as reference.

Possibly. The entire panhandle has been blessed with good rains this past couple of weeks. So we're hoping it hit just in time to sprout all the good forage they chow down on in the canyons. A good percentage of their horn growth comes in the month of August. Reality is we won't really know if it's a good/bad year until Oct and November when they start migrating up to our winter wheat.

What does this hunt normally go for at this live auction?

No idea. First year we've offered it. You never know at an auction, but for the charities sake I'm hoping a few guys are fighting over it....

Auction is being held during the charity gala, at Lucky Spur Ranch in Justin Texas on Oct 7th. It's on the "event Info" tab of the link in the original post.

Hunt will be during your choice of dates during the 2022 or 2023 TPWD mule deer season in Randall county, Texas. Check the TPWD site for the info to be released. Ranch is located in Randall County, on the south border of Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Closest town would be Canyon, Texas.

So, How do you bid? I still haven't figured that out.

Best way to bid is to attend the fundraiser in person. If you can't make the auction in person you can PM me with your proxy bid information, or we can arrange phone bidding.
The proxy bidding information we need is simply your contact info (name, address, email, phone) and your maximum bid and bid increments. The auctioneer will have someone bid in the live auction for you based on these instructions. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

I have personally hunted this ranch 3 times and will say it’s one of the best Texas mule deer hunting experience’s I have ever had, you will see lots of deer, the facilities are excellent and the people there are some of the nicest you will ever meet.. whoever wins this auction/hunt will have an awesome time!!
